Hi everyone I hope someone replies to this and can really help me out. Okay so I had a couple of acne scars and I wanted to get rid of them so I used a cream called tri radiant. It's mixed with 7% hydroquinone and retin a the thing is this cream made some parts of my skin darker than the others. I used it as a spot treatment and I used SPF. My whole face including those patches are getting darker and darker. My dr told me to use only obagi clear. I have been using that on my skin but now I'm noticing it even darker and it looks like blotchy ness all over. Will I ever get my skin back? What should I do? Should I get a chemical peel done? I'm so confused. I'm so embarassed. I cry day and night about this it's killing my self esteem that my face is getting dark too fast and it have nothing I can do. I went to 2 dermatologist before and they just won't listen. I'm going back tomorrow and explaining him everything but please I really need help. At this point I'm desperate. |

Hello. So sorry you are experiencing this issue with your skin. Hydroquinone can sometimes have the reverse effect in some people and cause skin to darken instead of getting lighter. Also, if you are using any products that contain Benzoyl peroxide while you are using hydroquinone that combination will definitely cause the darker reaction in your skin. You MUST use an SPF of at least 30 at all times when using products with HQ. I myself just recently started using Obagi Clear for some hyperpigmentation issues on my face. I was told I will see improvements in 4 weeks, so I'm only on week 1. |
