Hi everyone,
So the first day or two of my cycle I get horrible back pain. Lower back mostly and then up my spine to my mid back. And the cramps are almost as bad.
It gets to the point where I feel like I can barely do things like I'd normally do and its been upsetting the last couple months.
Can anyone tell me whats going on with my body or like a good website to educate myself on?
I know us women all get this but damn it hurts, I could put up the trouble of a monthly blood bath if it had no pain.
I guess my mom and grandmother have the same problem too,
I'm pretty sure I have more testosterone than a woman should, does that make things worse?
Any advice or anything would help a lot,
thanks!
(btw any prescriptions anyone knows of to reduce period back pain?-just came to mind) |

I think you are too young to have menopausal back pain!
I had low back pain. It seems to be on my tail bone.
I am 53 and TOM is all over the place. When I saw a family doctor, he was not concerned and offered me pain pills. (I no longer see him.)
I am a regular at the chiropractor's office. She is also trained in acupuncture. I try to go every 3 - 4 weeks. It really manages the pain. I rarely take OTC Advil; maybe once every few weeks if a headache is just hanging on.
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) is OTC seems to help with cramps. It is anti-inflammatory. |

Haha I agree! unfortunately I do and the only relief seems to be taking the fetal position hah,
I do take some advil as soon as it starts. It tends to dial down the pain to where I can walk around and function ok.
Acupuncture and chiropractors sound interesting.
How exactly does it help with this pain?
+ did you quit the pills because side effects or them not working?
Thanks |

I only take the pills as needed. I don't believe Advil (or similar) should be taken long term. I am concerned about being offered prescription pain pills from a doctor so casually.
I would do some research on chiropractor and or acupuncture if you think it might help. Also ask anyone who goes who they see. |
