Can i do that as the zinc oxide sunscreen is oil free and bit drying to my skin.. |

I would not add anything (oil, moisturizer, etc) directly to a sunscreen. You are diluting the active SS ingredients and lowering protection.
I add apply your moisturizer (oil, etc) first and let it absorb. Then apply your sunscreen. |

how about applying oils on my face then putting on sunscreen..
i am using elta md physical and it is really drying to the skin...
someone on a site suggested adding oils to sunscreen |

If your going to use oil first, do like Autumn1995 suggests and wait before applying sunscreen. I would wait at least 5 minutes. 10-15 minutes even better. Just be sure it is noticeably absorbed. |

But how do your counter the drying effects of Zinc oxide sunscreen? |

I actually think you can apply an oil or moisturiser underneath a physical sunscreen. However, doesn't Elta MD contain Octinoxate? This is a chemical sunscreen and needs to be applied to bare skin to be absorbed.
Perhaps another zinc only spf? Invisible Zinc's Environmental Skin Protector spf 30, for instance, is great; as is, Suntegrity's Zinc-based range (this already contains hydrating oils).
Speaking of which, if you do add oils, go for pomegranate and red raspeberry seed oil which provide further spf benefits.

no physical 41 contains 9% zinc 7& titanium dioxide..
so what u mean is apply oil first wait awhile then the sunscreen like others recommended too? |
