Few years ago i started to get acne. My skins sensitive/dry and now acne prone and bumpy! Im now 25.
So been on a mission to help reduce the acne whilst also adding in some anti aging goodies to help in the long term.
I have tried PC glycolic 5% and PC 1% BHA which im not sure if i gave long enough trial or if i was using them enough etc. But they didnt get rid of my acne or bumps. I was worried about over exfoliating my skin as i heard that can be bad anti aging wise in the long run.
Ive also started trialing a retinol product on my forehead Retinol Reface which ive seen no effects from. Which i guess is good as ive seen no peeling my forehead feels quite smooth but dont think ive seen a reduction in bumps, acne or lines but i know its probably so weak its more a preventative.
Aswell as that i baught a vitamin c serum to trial the Skincare Rx vitamin c serum. Which my skin seems no problem in handling. But at the moment only applying it maybe once a week because im not really quite sure what im doing with the acids in my skincare routine. Which is basically why im asking for help from you guys. And i dont know is the vitamin c actually exfoliating slightly aswell?
Moisturiser wise im using cerave pm and if my skins feels a bit more on the dry side ive applied a bit of cetaphil moisturising cream.
So anyways all the actives ive been using at night and using a good spf in the day time. At the moment trialing zinc oxide based moisturisers/ tinted and bb creams to find one that suits me. Havent found one yet but could be possibly down to my skin being bumpy still why they arent suiting me. They always look cakey!
So my main question really is is this all too much for me? The aha does a really good job of making my skin smoother, the bha i didnt really see any effect but im guessing it takes a longer time to unclog pores (im guessing thats what the bumps are on my skin). I want the vitamin c for anti aging benefits and also the retinol for the same thing.
So can anyone help maybe give me some tips on my routine and reassure me im not going to destroy my skin from using acids. Thanks And a late happy christmas to you all! |
