I got a sample of this in my recent order and tried it out this morning.
It has a neutral smell which is nice, I'm sick of overpowering smells in products. It went on nice and felt good as it dried (surprisingly it didn't feel that uncomfortable when it was dry). The mask was easy to remove with a damp face cloth...
The results...It brought a lot of impurities to the surface, spots where I didn't know I had blocked pores or zits forming now showed.. Using the mask made doing extractions fairly easy.
I do have some of the sample left so I'm going to try it out as an overnight spot treatment before making my final decision. |

I've been wanting to try Astara masks for ages! Thank you for your review of it so far - I'm trying to decide between the blue and the violet but I should really get samples first... |

I want to try the violet one now.
After using the blue I seemed to have more bumps...I'm guessing that it brought the junk to the surface and that's why.....or at least I hope!? |

I tried a samples of the Violet Flame mask one morning last week. I wasn't keen on the smell for some reason. I didn't notice any subsequent break-outs, but now I have two lovely zits on my chin. However, I am certain that these are related to hormones and resting the phone on my chin, not the mask. |

tiger_tim - yes, I saw it and had it in my cart too Luckily, the masks I am interested in are the blue, green and violet. If THAT was in the kit it would *so* be at my place right now |

Mabsy, you could always get the introductory kit... I was thinking of that one too.. it has a 1-2 use sample of every mask..and as I was interested in the daily exfoliant to compare to Juice Beauty I thought it might be good. Still on the fence on which way to go... |

Those samples will give at least 2 uses plus a couple nights for overnight spot treatments |

Argh!!! Ladies - I need help in *eliminating* items from the shopping trolley - not *adding* them! I must admit that now that I know that the mask samples are substantial I'm quite tempted... |

But the mask kit comes with a brush for your mask!!
Another thing - has anyone tried the Nourishing Vitamin mask? That's the one I'm really interested in... |

I tried my sample tonight. What the H... in the world is the smell came from. It smelled a little be minty and ..... and..... and ..... a lot chemical!!! I know, I know, it's all natural. But...... I just went to smell it again, I,.... I,.... I,...., I almost threw up.
(EDS) Precaution: May irritate some sensitive skins, especially if used with steam. May cause eyes to tears initially.
I put way down from my eyes but I still had tears in my eyes and I had to closed my eyes for a minute or two. But as lianne said "It went on nice and felt good as it dried." I did not feel the tightness or discomfort. Actually I knew it's dried by opening my mouth.
Disturbed by the smell too much to exam the result. Mabsy, you like "smelly' things, why don't you try it and tell me what's the smell came from.
Now I know why it's a SPECIAL FOOT TREATMENT!! I'm going to the bathroom now. |

I had been thinking about this since my last reply and i could not stop thinking "would I want to put something on my face that one can put between ones toes to alleviate FUNGUS?"
once the comedy of it was over I decided I was put off trying this mask.. but still got a giggle over your smell issues. |

Okay...so I caved I bought the mask kit
As we speak, I have the Blue Purification mask on. I don't find the smell overpowering at all. Its very minty smelling.
Directions call for a thin layer on the face - applied with the mask brush of course .
I have sensitive skin, and so far, no problems, no stinging (I tried another mask 2 weeks ago..Juice Beauty - HORRIBLE. I couldn't even stand it for 5 minutes, my eyes were watering and stinging like crazy...but I digress).
I guess I should do a more thorough review after I wash it off. I'm just way to excited with my new products.
The kit come with the Sea Minterals mask and Golden Flame. I really want to try the Golden Flame - this one is moisturizing. The minerals mask is for revitalizing and to energize.
I also bought the Nourishing Vitamin mask. I had a wonderful facial about 1 month ago with vitamin products (mind you it was with Environ products and using their special machine - I don't know what its called). I'm hoping this mask will give me a similiar glow and clear skin.
I'll keep you guys posted.
Now I have to go wash my face. |

Can someone write an update on these masks? I also read from MUA that Astara does have a lot of chemicals in them and that the listed ingredients are only partial and not the full ingredients. |

I used up a golden flame one 2-3 years ago. Oddly, I don't think it smells natural, it doesn't smell strong either, just seems to be a light artifical scent to me. Having said that, the mask did not give me breakout, I did not see much effect on me either. After using it for a while seeing no results, I started to use a lot each time, hoping to finish the jar quick. I expect more for a mask at this price, won't purchase it again. |
