I noticed two months ago when I went through an extremely stressful, bad month and started noticing my skin getting worse...some pimples and even a crazy big cold sore cropped up. But I also noticed myself looking older, more haggard. I'm in my mid 20's so this was weird. I'd never noticed any wrinkling around my mouth before since I usually inspect my skin closely, but started noticing some slight wrinkling on one side of my mouth and I still have it. It seemed to show up overnight that month.
I'm wondering what I can do to attack this slight wrinkling around my mouth to make sure it doesn't get worse? I can't figure out what's best-glycolic acid cream, mild lactic acid peels, Retin A cream, or a milder cream that has vitamin a like Olay wrinkle night creams??
Please leave me suggestions if you have tackled the onset of slight wrinkling and what you used that worked for you! |

My 2 cents...
Make sure you are getting enough sleep (yes, sometimes a challenge during stress).
Drink plenty of water (not too much coffee or alcohol).
Exercise - helps your body blast away some of the stress
Most topicals wont help much if the issues are stress related. But keep your skin well moisturized. Keep using sunscreen and vitamin C serum.
Since you mention wrinkles around your mouth, it may be how you hold your face during stress. I do this and tense my lips. Be sure to change your facial expressions frequently - smile, scream or whatever feels good. |
