Have you tried those eye creams with a metal roller ball, like Clinique's All About Eyes?
The puffiness happens from fluid buildup during the night. If your lymphatic system isn't eliminating the buildup, puffiness can occur in the morning. Massaging your eyes inwards with a cold eyecream applicator like that should help relieve it some.
Are you cleaning off your makeup before going to bed? Maybe you should double cleanse (cream/ oil massage then wash off with foaming cleanser) or use OCM if you wear heavy eye makeup. A good makeup remover for eyes is Lacome's Bifacil Dual Makeup Remover.
Keep your eyecream in the fridge do it's cool and massage the undereye area repeatedly (circular motions around the orbital bone) until it subsides, applying even pressure. You should do this for 1-2 minutes. (Ice, cold spoons and cold teabags work.)
The darkness is genetic and there's not much you can do except invest in a good concealer. But if this is a recent occurrence, look at your diet; are you hydrating yourself? Are you eating clean foods that you cook at home or eating out? Are you drinking alcohol? Getting enough sleep?
Think carefully and try to find the source that's causing the problem. |

The most important is to maintain adequate sleep and rest. |
