Can anyone who has had cataract surgery advise me as to how long to wait to use eye makeup? Most of the online info says a week, but my dr. says THREE WEEKS. I am using all my regular treatment products and a small amount of eye cream on my lids.
I look like hell without makeup and the thought of three weeks looking like this is frightening. |

What sort of eye makeup do you usually wear? I'd stay away from lining the waterline or wearing mascara since little bits could fall into your eyes. Wear cream shadows on the lids, painting it on carefully with a brush so you get a thin layer that won't migrate into your eye. Of course you won't press down hard on your lid! Get your eyebrows professionally shaped if you need to. It's amazing how that really made a difference for me and I don't wear as much eye makeup as before. |

Softskin:
thanks so much for your reply.
I followed your instructions yesterday and it was a great improvement. I have been carefully applying eye cream to the top of the lid because I don't want to have it look worse when my eye finally heals. My husband thinks I look younger without eye makeup, but I will never give it up entirely. I've been wearing it since I was a teen and it's a part of me. LOL
I have always been so careful with my eyes, and I don't think I'm going to use the lash tints that I have used in the past. I will still do a peel on my lids, though. (I'm very careful with it)
Being a 'glam' is a full time job!
