Hello,
I am a 57 year old woman and I wash my face with a bar of soap... that's right. However, it's not just any soap! If you are around my age, or even a bit younger, you will remember Pears Original Transparent soap (made in the UK). The original listed ingredients were: Sodium Palmitate, Natural Rosin, Glycerine, Water, Sodium Cocoate, Rosemary Extract, Thyme Extract, Pears Fragrance Essence.
The new Pears soap (made by Unilever) doesn't compare. I have seen many complaints online about it.
It's impossible to find the original anymore, but don't despair! Check out this company...just type in Google: "Britannia Transparent Soap". The company is La Savonnerie de l'Alchimiste.
They make a version of the original which is amazing! My skin is loving it. Doesn't dry it out and this bar will last a long time. So for anyone in search of the "original" Pears soap, this is where to purchase it. They are 5 ounce bars (so quite large). I live in Canada, so for 2 bars, the cost was $35 (including the shipping), (not bad for a good skincare product that will last a while). ** Takes about 3 weeks to arrive if you live in Canada, but worth the wait. |
