One thing that I've had good luck with in tightening my pores and making my face feel squeaky clean is activated charcoal face masks. I use the one by Origins. My face always looks more blackhead free for about a week after using them. |

I have tried the origins one before, but it does not make difference for me though |

I noticed there are dark spots coming out on my cheek during my pregnancy, and I have been trying to find a product to remove them. I got the clinique dark spot one, but hesitate to use by looking at the complicated ingredients. does anyone have recommendation on it? |

Be careful with the product your are using when pregnant, some ingredients can be risky, and your body is in a different condition, just do simple skincare routine.

I have combination skin with very very dry skin on cheek, but my blackhead is very serious, maybe that is because I paid too much attention on moisturizing, include my nose.
So, SusieQ, will Paula's Choice 2%BHA make any difference to my blackhead? or, any other better recommendation? |

have tried Paula's 2% Salicylic acid. Didn't feel much tingle.
i used a 6% Salicylic acid ointment by Dr Reddys 2 days in a row. The 1st day and left it on a couple of mins and washed it off. The 2nd day, i left it on more than 1 hour (that was yesterday).
The pores have shrunk and look really clean. The skin is a little more sensitive now to my ACV toner and LAA Vitamin C Serum.
Will probably avoid acids for a while and apply a really good sunscreen.
Any advise on the 6% Salicylic acid ointment? It was odd that it did not come with any instructions. |

on my cheek area where the pores are getting more noticeable there is some redness. I would say my skin is combination because I get acne, oily, and dry skin. But definitely more on the dry side, so it's sort of in between dry to combination. Do you have any recommendations that will clarify my pores/blackheads, without being too harsh. |

First allow the skin to heal and build it up before you go attack mode on the pores/blackhead.
BHA works beautifully for pores. You can use it only on the oily areas and avoid the dry parts. |

OCM is something that popped into my mind too as many people who suffer from blocked pores and blackheads swear by it. I got my younger teenage son doing it many years ago, and it was interesting as we could literally feel the oils remove the gunk from his pores, but it did clean up his skin very quickly and he's continued to do that to this day. |
