I know it's been asked before but what is everyone's favorite now that more oil cleansers are on the market.
I'm so stupid, I thought I was pretty savvy regarding skincare and I've neglected to use oil cleanser to remove my waterproof shiseido sunscreen since I started using it again.
My favorites have been amore pacific and la vitton which is now laventine.
Do any of you know of some you like better especially if you've used the one mentioned above.......... |

Dermalogica Pre-cleansing oil is nice and thick and mostly based on natural oils like olive oil. I also like Dermalogica cleansing oil and the ready made cleansing oil from Garden of Wisdom. |

I'm easy, I don't like the marketed cleansing oils so I use plain jojoba or a blend and it works like a charm for a lot less money. |

I know many hate mineral oil, but being an oil that is one of the least comedogenic oils, I really enjoy Shu Uemura Fresh cleansing oil combined with Depsea water (I have it in myrtle) after I cleanse.
I've used this once before and strangely enough, put it back on my shelf even though I really liked it. I know it had to do with getting bored with products...NOT the product's performance. I recently "rediscovered" it after I was so exasperated with my complexion...it's been muggy and humid here due to monsoon season and it's taking a toll on my face in the form of breakouts. I love the way Shu Uemura emulsifies when you mix it with water, so it comes off easily and leaves no residue behind. |

If you're thinking of purchasing a cleansing oil I suggest you consider Karin Herzog's Professional Cleansing Cream, it's sort of like a balm but also like a cleansing oil. I've used Shu Uemura's cleansing oil in the past and liked it but I prefer the KH prof. cleanser. |

Nude Cleansing Facial Oil—it's surprisingly great and I am not a fan of cleansing oils. |

Primavera's pure Macadamia Nut Oil is my favourite. It is very rich, moisturizing but does not leave an oily redidue when wiped off. I've been using it for many years now. I have tried other oils every now and then, like Jojoba, but I always come back to Macadamia. It is also extremely stable and I think takes a very very long time before any rancidity takes place. |

DHC is one of the better ones. I have used many other Japanese brand (Cleansing oil is favorite amongst the Japanese). Amongst them I like:
Junkisei Prime cleansing Oil (Kose Cosmenience from Japan line) - rinse off very well, non-greasy, non-drying. I usually use this for the fall/winter when I wear heavy makeup
Ettusais Acne Gentle Make-off (Ettusais Japan) - for days when I have a breakout. It supposedly control breakouts due to mentrual cycle and minimize the chance of further breaking out. Very clean and comfy on those breakout days.
No matter how well the cleansing oil rinse off, I still follow it with my normal facial cleanser just to remove the oil residue to prevent clogging my pores. Also, cleansing oil with mineral oil content tends to clog up pores a lot faster for some people, so read the ingredients before you buy.
For the summer my favorite right now is Bioderma Micelle Solution for sensitive skin. I don't put make-up on during the summer but I like still use a make-up remover to remove all the sunblock off my face to prevent it from clogging pores. I follow up with my normal cleanser. |

I like MAC cleanse off oil. free of mineral oil, smells nice and does cleanse very well! This is light textured compared to DHC one and I like it since I don't usually wear heavy makeup. |

I love the MAC Cleanse-off oil. Very mild, yet cleanses thoroughly, and rinses clean, so no need for a separate step. |

I have a bit of an oily skin in the summer and won't use an oil to remove makeup. I use just plain ordinary Ponds cold cream and than I like to use my regualar wash off cleanser after. |

For me, it's Fancl cleansing oil.
Even if your sunscreen is waterproof, it should dissolve in cleansing OIL and be washed off. |

Hi babymax
Good post - I was wondering the same thing & was told that YES I do need to use a cleansing oil to remove ss. I use Fancl or DHC and follow with my usual cleanser (Zenbiotic). Even tho I felt clean with just my usual cleanser, I was worried about product build-up and clogging my pores. I hope this helps. |

I couldn't agree more with this choice. I have a closetful of facial cleansers and this, by far, is the best that I have ever used. It is as good for oily skin as it is dry and will clean out pores like a vacuum! You are left with soft and glowing skin with no residue.
Fabulous product. |

I have tried Fancl,MAC, DHC and Shu Uemura cleansing oils. My favorite is Shu Uemura with MAC as a distant second. I use the regular Shu. It emulsifies nicely and smells great. |

zyggy - reading your post reminded me about the OCM I read about on this forum, so I mixed up a bottle of 20% castor oil, 40% sunflower oil and 40% olive oil (cuz those were the 2 oils I had in my kitchen). It really did do a nice job of getting off all the ss and makeup, and then I used Chidorya rice bran soap afterwards to get all the traces off.
Someone posted about not using OCM daily d/t castor oil causing dryness with overuse, so I'm going to use Fancl daily and OCM (DIY brew) once or twice a week. Is that what you do?? |

I was one who had a horrible experience with OCM, 60% olive and 40% castor oil. I've never had my face hurt and look that horrible before or since. Perhaps your mixture will be easier to work with. |
