If you are concerned, it's always best to get it checked if a spot has lingered several months.
I had a red spot. Didn't look like fresh acne but like a lingering pigmented spot. Slight bump, a little red and rough to the touch. It was a pre cancer spot and easy to remove by a derm. |

Good description. Same as MH's, surgeon took a couple of seconds to remove it, no recurrence. |

More like a rash or a small red spot that doesn't go away.. |

sometimes the skin cancer will be invisible and you can only "feel" it. |

If you want images just Google "skin cancer images" but I would always ask a dermatologist or doctor. |

I've had two cancerous lesions taken off my arms and my spots did not look like most of the ones depicted online. I have freckles too so they kind of blended in but I'd noticed they were bigger than my freckles and had a little red, raised, bumpy look to them. The dermatologist didn't think they were cancerous but when he biopsied them, they were. He lasered them off. I was lucky because they were not the fast growing melanoma kind. I'd say if you have concerns see a dermatologist right away and get a checkup every year. |

I was told or overheard my stepfather who does use tons of sunscreen and has a lot of money actually got skin cancer on his nose and was treated for that.
I think it was a US doctor that caught that, as doctors in Canada do not always have the time to do tons of tests. |

You'd better do the examination. |
