Happy New Year!
As with you all, my skin care practices evolve. There is one thing that I am sure of, when one stops caring for their body (read skin) and mind, the decline begins.
Keep at it, vary your treatments choose to massage, exfoliate, nourish, and practice advanced skin care for the best skin of your life at any age!
The link below is to a new article that I wrote, Chose to Lose, Maintain, or Gain Health = Beauty about keeping ourselves intact as we mature. What have you chosen to give up of yourself? Choose to get it all back. Beauty will follow.

Check out Sanford Bennett's transformation from age 50 to 70. He invented the wrinkle rubout and was referred to as the "man who aged young"
Wishing you a great start to the New Year.

Hi there!
Thank you, I am so glad that you enjoyed my article!
My perception is that any and all antioxidants are fantastic for our general and skin health. Various plants have special characteristics that make them unique for treating conditions to improve health.
Throughout my adult life, I approached health intuitively. When I am curious about a substance, I read several articles to get a basic understanding of the type of science (standard testing) or anecdotal (observations) evidence and results that are available. Then I try various herbs and teas myself. If I feel good after using and see/feel results, I continue.
I would do an internet or library search on green tea benefits for skin. The simplest method to integrate into skin care would be to brew, plain organic green tea and after the leaves and brew cool apply leaves to the skin as a facial, and use the brew in a serum or lotion.
My intuition has been to consume and apply anti-oxidants over the decades to combat free radicals that degrade health and skin. It is not so much which anti-oxidants, as much as which are available to you that may be used in a variety of ways for consumption and application. Green tea is an anti-oxidant with many health benefits and will benefit health = beauty.
I currently love drinking matcha green tea every morning and integrating matcha into cooking as well. I'll use steeped and cooled green tea bags on my eyes to mitigate puffiness (although I typically use lymphatic facial massage for eye puffiness) and for the antioxidants and apply tea serum to my face before an LED treatment.
Have a great day

Hydrogeogirl- any suggestions for an effective lymphatic massage for under eye puffiness? I’ve tried several techniques with no luck. Fluid under eyes has gotten increasingly worse as I’ve moved deeper into late thirties. Thanks! And love your articles! |

Hi jenp7!
Thanks so much for sharing feedback on my articles, I really appreciate it and am glad that you enjoy them!
I have only used the facial lymphatic massage posted here:
http://allnaturalbeauty.us/ani10.htm
I tried to illustrate it with images in my book.
I had tried all kinds of stuff to eliminate undereye puffiness. Nothing really worked until I used this massage once a day for two weeks and then weekly. Except, now I forget until I get a little puffy! My daughter found a lymphatic massage that has one move beneath the ears and another that has massage on the neck. I don't have those links, but I have recently been using those as well. Also, I dry brush weekly to promote lymphatic flow.
Lymphatic massage is important

Thank you for the link! I actually bought your book several years ago and didn’t realize this was in it. I probably didn’t think I needed it at the time so skimmed over that section. I’ll have to go look for it! Do you dry brush just your body or face as well? |

Hi jenp7,
Sorry for my delayed response!
Thanks so much for buying my book! I continue to fully enjoy the opportunities available using basic and advanced DIY skin care to maintain and improve skin condition at any age.
Yes, I dry brush my face and my body. In addition, a few years ago, I noticed that my eye and neck skin were not progressing as well as my facial skin and at that time I made a decision to do the same treatments on my eye and neck skin as I do on facial skin and I have no regrets. I chose to do this at my own risk. Saying that, I squeeze my eyes shut and dry scrub my entire face and my neck, with vigor. Over time, I've developed strong toned skin. If a person chooses to exfoliate and stimulate facial fascia and lymphatic flow using dry brushing, I suggest starting with gentle strokes and build up to stronger brush strokes over time.
I am currently using a natural fiber long scrubber with handles and a natural fiber glove instead of a brush. The important thing is to stimulate the skin.
I described this in this article:
