I've started a new routine a month ago and my pimples are decreasing each week and my old acne scars are getting slowly but surely clearer so I wanted to share with you what I've done
I wash my face with a gentle face cleanser that has no soap in it, no parabens nothing harsh, and it's for dry skin so it doesn't make your skin feel tight. After that I exfoliate with Lush's Angel on bare skin (it has almonds, lavender and kaolin in it amongst other things) it's great cause it's very gentle and I make sure I never scrub hard but gently almost like I'm caressing my face. I exfoliate 3 times a week, for example on monday then wednesday then saturday but never two days in a row.
I then use witch hazel as my toner, then I add a serum with amino acids and copper peptides on it but only a tiny small pump, like a dot, i let it sit on my face, then add retinol (occasionaly) I again let it sit, then I start using my moisturizers which are:
Aloe Vera, the pure natural plant, i cut some piece and put it on my face, i let it dry (takes around 2 min) then I start cutting a tomato and putting it on my pimples, I started doing that cause I heard that tomatos have salicylic acid in it which is good for acne. Again I use tomatoes around 3 or 4 times a week, always at night.
After that I call it a day or I let it dry again and start using jojoba oil as a moisturizer on top. I don't rinse the tomatoes ever. I sleep and when I wake up I rinse my face and use a little bit of soap to wash the tomatos off.
During the day I use sunscreen and I stopped wearing foundation or anything, (I do the same routine where I clean my face, exfoliate occasionnaly, and use a toner, after the tone I moisturize with Lush "skin drink" but I have dry skin so it might not be good for you, it's a very rich cream with beeswax in it)
Once a week I do a green clay face mask to purify and clean pores. Also once a week I've started to use glycolic peel with papaya in it, it's a gentle one, it doesn't have pure glycolic acid but a little bit, enough to exfoliate slightly your skin. The brand is Caudalie.
Everyday I been waking up and seeing that my red pimples diminish but that some blackheads on my cheeks are looking more visible (almost like they wanna pop out, gross I know, but I'm going to steam my face this saturday to open up my pores and use a blackhead tool)
I recently bought rice bran oil in capsule form but it has the oil in it, so I cut it off and mix it with jojoba oil, my face looks so radiant, but I make sure to not use it too much since it has powerful antioxidant (more powerful than vitamin E). |
