I made "tea" by boiling water and combining with a lot of rosemary. I used this to add to bath water for therapeutic reasons and pleasant fragrance. It is now a month later and I have this lovely smelling tea still in a good thermos. To my mind the water was scalding hot, the thermos has been sealed and stored in a dark place and there are no off-odors, so I can keep using it notwithstanding the duration. But maybe someone has experience or guidelines about how long a water-based extraction is good for. Thank you for reading and sharing your knowledge. |

Crude herbal extracts usually aren't considered stable or pharmaceutical-grade. But many people still use them for home/family/personal uses.
If you wanted a crude rosemary extract to last a really long time, be safer, and come out very strong, you might want to consider making a tincture or glycerol instead of a pure water "tea." HTH! |
