Hi Everyone
Just wanted to start off by saying thanks for the great info on this website-has helped me tremendously! Im hoping that I can get some help on my routine.
Ive recently realized that I have fungal acne and have stopped all triggers which has made a world of difference to my skin. I also no longer have any breakouts. I started off by dropping everything (including makeup!) and just using the Avene Tolerance cream and aloe gel with the Avene or Cetaphil cleanser. Now I have added in some of The Ordinary Resveratrol and Ferulic acid which I dilute with some squalane/distilled water to about 1%-I use this every morning and night.
The problem with this acne is that it wipes out a lot of options for me to purchase products so I am now trying to formulate my own. It doesn’t help that I am also sensitive to silicones
I was looking for advice on two diy products im trying to formulate. Im trying to target the scars left behind from the acne, uneven skin tone and some early anti-aging (im 34 years old).
BHA serum (use twice a week-will adjust ph to around 3.5)
Salicylic Acid – 1%
Distilled water – 50%
Vitamin B5 – 3-5%
Aloe Gel – 34-36%
Squalane oil – 10%
Night Cream (use every night-adjust ph to around 5.5 if not already there)
MAP – 10%
Niacinamide – 5%
NAG – 5%
Vitamin B5 – 3-5%
Co-enzyme Q10 – 2%
Base (Avene Tolerance Cream) – 50%
Aloe Gel – 23-25%
Im not sure if the night cream has too many actives? Although I would prefer 1 step in my night routine it might be better to make two creams rather than one? Im also not sure if I can mix MAP and Niacinamide as Ive heard that Niacinamide and Vitamin C may have issues together.
Lastly please advise on any preservatives I would need for these-I will decrease the aloe gel percentage to accommodate it.
Ive also been looking for a retinol product that I can start incorporating into my routine-any advice for a fungal acne friendly one?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions/comments and advice! |
