I just turned 50 10 days ago (Ugh!). I have had decent skin and have never really done much by way of skin care or makeup. But this past year I lost my job I've had since '99 and going through separation and divorce and the stress and aging have really hit me. My regimen has basically been Suki foaming face wash daily and moisturizers and Rocky Mountain Soap geranium soap at night - that's it.
What's one skin care product or procedure that you would recommend I do to stop this rapid downhill tumble I've been on this year? |

50 is the new 30, time to pick yourself up & start again. Also time to start looking after yourself. I am in my 70s and my skincare routine is pretty simple. I was given Monsia Skincare as a pressy in Dec 2014 and I have used it ever since. It suits my skin. I use the cleanser & toner morning & evening followed by the day moisturizer during the day and the night repair cream before bed. In the winter I also top up my neck, face & hands with vit E oil at night, this keeps my skin hydrated which normally tends to dry out because the heating sucks all the moisture out of the air. I tend to use jojoba oil as a 2nd cleanser if I have been using eyeliner/mascara.
Your first step is to check out all the different products and choose one that suits your skin. |

Those are good items but I would add a Retinol product and Vitamin C. Apply Retinol at night and C in AM. |

facial exercises are free, I'd do those. look on youtube.
Retin A is proven to improve skin texture and prevent and minimize wrinkles ..many of us on here buy it online for cheaper. You should start with .25 strength.
Decide on a good moisturizer and eye cream
Sun screen will protect your skin from aging and actually help it restore.
get a lash serum to grow yours longer and thicker
use whitening toothpaste and work on whitening teeth to their best.
I'd buy a clarsonic... i swear by mine. |

Missed your post until today - thank you for your response. I use vit E oil because it replenishes collagen so I'm thinking Retinol will not be necessary as I am blessed with good genes. I will look at Vit C. |

You can use both. There are many serums with both C and E in them. |

Glad to hear you are selective regarding the use of Retinol. Gentleness does it!

I also use vitamin E oil, which makes my skin soft and elastic, and no longer makes me feel dry. |

Sorry to hear about the job situation.
I think keeping it simple:
EmerginC Multi-vitamin plus Retinol... that will save you buying multiple products
AND to shed off the top layers gently
EmerginC Triple Threat Peel (once a week)
The combo will peel and rebuild.
Good luck!

The older you get, the more nutritious and anti-aging creams you need. You can choose your own cosmetics. |
