Hi everyone. I wanted to ask a question about using the high frequency lift wand. I'm having a hard time incorporating it into my face routine since I use a 10 percent vitamin c serum during the day. Is it ok to wake up and put oil on and leave the oil on for an hour after using the high frequency then to wash my face and apply my vitamin c or is that too soon? If I wait to use the high frequency at night time I have to wash my face, then apply oil and use it, then wash my face again to get the oil off and I think that will be too stripping. |

With high frequency, I don't think you are supposed to use an oil prior to using it. The High Frequency can work on clean skin without an oil.
Why are you using an oil for it out of curiousity?
Most of the wands, can be used on clean bare skin and don't need an oil to use the device.
I am not sure why you are using one.
You could use one after using it, and it may be beneficial if you were using a high frequency and your skin was dry, but for general purposes you just need to cleanse your skin and dry it and then use the device. It doesn't take long and is much more manageable this way.
So if you use your Vit C in the morning, you could use the frequency wand at night before bed and then apply a moisturiser or oil if you wanted to?

Hi Theresa. It came with argon oil to use with it but I've been using tamanu oil instead. It pulls on my skin too much if I use it on bare skin or with just my normal serum and moisturizer. The oil helps it glide better. I'm worried that the tugging and pulling will loosen my skin. |

Okay then it may be a different thing altogether than a high frequency device. You see with high frequency they are more geared towards killing bacteria and spots rather than lifting. Although the derma wan advert still makes me chuckle and I followed for ages trying to get my eyebrows lifted up.
With my D'arsoval unit, you get different types of head attachment, and so you can alternative, but you really do not need oil at all with high frequency. However if you are afraid of pulling your skin - don't be. Seriously I know I was too years ago, and nowadays I pull and tug at my skin whenever I can and actually my skin looks better for it. However I know it goes against what the cosmetic store giants tell us to do - but then there is sufficient people out there that show great results from doing so. It depends on your circumstances and needs I suppose.
If you enjoy using oils with it, then keep doing it. However I'm thinking using an oil will actually stop the frequency penetrating the skin and derma, and so it kind of is a waste of effort, time and money too. I get you need slip and are afraid to pull at your skin but using an oil may be preventing you get full benefits from high frequency treatments. You mention that you are using a device to lift your face specifically - and I'm not sure which one exactly you are using but I'd suggest doing more research on it.

I have a dermawand also. I bought it years ago and only used it a few times then put it under my sink. Way too much work. The lift wand is a D'arsoval unit with the attachments. I'm not so much trying to lift my face, just prevent aging. I read it supposedly stimulates collagen. I'm 30 and had a fractional co2 laser done a few months ago. Biggest mistake ever. My skin feels much thinner. I need all the help I can get. |

If its a D'arsoval unit then you don't need any oil for its usage and from memory the instructions actually suggest just cleansing and toning the skin prior to use. At 30 years you don't need to worry about stimulating collagen till you are in your late 30's (37, 3 . |

Any tricks for stimulating collagen or thickening the skin? I'm worried the co2 is going to age me more since my skin feels much thinner. |

I hope you don’t mind if I bring this thread back.
I don’t know the difference between high frequency compared to radio frequency. It is my understanding that both promote collagen that help prevent sagging. I just learned that if you use it too long as per the instructions, it can work against you.
I need to find what is better, high or radio frequency. |
