I have a drawer full of great products that I have not been using for a while due to a strict regimen prescribed by my dermatologist to battle hormonal acne. Well, I am happy to report that I am finally clear , but I am left with some red marks and uneven skintone.
This is my current regimen.
morning:
wash face (oil-free gel, from my derm)
apply Clindagel (Rx antibiotic acne gel)
moisturize with Cetaphil lotion
apply dermalogical sunscreen, if needed
evening:
wash face
apply Retin-A Micro
I don't want to over do it, but what can I add to my regimen that will help with my uneven skin tone?
These are some products that I have in my drawer:
AlphaDerma CE
Jan Marini Bioclear lotion
Dermalogica Microfoliant
Valmont renewing pack
SkinCeuticals Vitam C Serum 15
MD Formulations VitAPlus clearing complex
Which of these products would be benefical to add and how would I fit it into my current regimen?
Thanks |

My suggestion would be the vitamin C serum and the Microfoliant in the morning but I am not sure how/if the vit C is going to interact with your antibiotic acne gel. Perhaps you could get your derm's advice on that before adding? Also, while I've found the combo of vit C and Microfoliant use to be great - I worry that Microfoliant might be a bit much for you. It *is* a gentle exfoliant but I don't know enough about your Rx and Retin-A Micro to be able to recommend them to you with a clear consience.... |

Thanks Mabsy, you always offer great advice! I think I will start using the Vit-C and try the microfoliant a few times a week and see if it's too harsh for my skin. The Vit-C that I have has turned a golden brown color, is that still ok to use?
To those of you that are using Retin-A, what other products do you also use in your skin care regimen?
I did ask my dermatologist if I can use other products as well. Her answer was that nothing will work better then the retin-a that I am using and if I am really impatient for the red marks to fade then she can give me a Beta-Lift peel. Since the peel is quite expensive and requires some "down time", I am trying to find other options.
