Hi
Ive got some liposome retinol (oil soluble) and wondered if its ok for me to mix some of it in the cream ive been using? The ingredients are Aloe Gel, Apricot Oil, Mango Butter, Calendula, Apple Extract, Jojoba, Arnica & Vit E & K. Ill work out the percentages based on weight. Also would there be any ph issues?
Thanks! |

Yes. And retinol is not pH dependent. The base cream formula looks as though it should be pretty pH neutral.
But if it's encapsulated retinols (eg in liposomes), it will penetrate deeper so less is best to start with.
Typically, use HALF the encapsulated retinol for the same effect as you would with normal retinol.
EG normal 1%, then ue 0.05% encapsulated.
You will need to know what's the IU * in 100g of your original retinol-liposome cream. Add enough to your base cream so you will be getting around 85'000 IU per 100g
