I meant to review this last weekend but time got away from me (and I ate too many chocolate Easter bunnies and became lethargic ) so here I am reviewing it today
I always have a problem with buying BE blushes and eyeshadows etc because I look at the price and then the size and have serious issues with paying $$ for 0.85g of powder. What I always forget though, is that 0.85g of powder is actually A LOT of powder! It took me ages to actually end up getting this. It's been on my list for probably about two years now and it always ended up being taken out of the shopping cart at the last moment to be replaced with something else. Well, it's finally made it! I've been using the Clear Radiance almost every day for the last few weeks and I'm very happy with it. I also don't seem to have made a dent in it really so I can see it's going to last a long time. I've used it as a blush, as eyeshadow, and all over my face as well. I like it on almost all counts
The powder comes in a standard BE sifter jar. This is convenient packaging on a daily basis but perhaps not the best choice if you travel a lot. My favorite use of this is both as an eyeshadow and an all over face brightener. I use this over my JI pressed base (and the JI blush) and it gives me a nice healthy glow that you can't quite put your finger on (no visible pieces of glitter or anything like that). I just look more awake and healthy, and I should mention over here that I am very pasty-pale in general. As an eyeshadow it is also a great eye opener and brightener. As a blush, well... as a blush it's nice but not pigmented enough for me. I always end up using this over the Dubonnet blush and it makes a perfect combination. Whichever way I use this I end up spritzing my face at the end just as I would if I were just using the JI pressed base. A few minutes later it all magically settles in on my face and looks completely natural.
I used my JI eye shadow brushes to apply it as an eye shadow (dry) but decided to use my A'Squirrel Kabuki brushes for applying it over the whole face. This powder is pinkish (and I'm yellow toned) so I don't want to overdo it. Getting a nice big fluffy kabuki brush deposits just the right amount of this on my face. I then also concentrate over the cheek area to bring out the blush a little more.
I have normal to combo skin and have not had any breakouts or increased oilies due to using this.
Thank you to those who recommended it to me |

Mabsy out of interest what made you swap from using Bare Escentuals base to Jane Iredale base?
Once I have sampled both of these I plan to purchase but am constantly udecided - I keep thinking oh JI looks the best but BE is cheaper, I don't normally wear foundation but I do have some acne scarring and I find concealer is quite heavy.
I would love to know how JI has been different for you than BE |

Hi Mabsy
I use the BE Foundation, Warmth and Glee....what is and where would I fit in the clear radiance??..or do I use it instead of warmth??...
I'd never change to any other make up now!!!! I love the eyeshadows and liners as well! |

Mabsy,
Thank you for the review. I should try using Clear Radiance over my other blush. I tried using it by itself as a blush and it does not give me enough pigment. I love using it all over my face! |

rosebud - I really liked the BE when I started using it but once I tried the JI pressed I just don't want to go back. First, because it's pressed and it's less messy and seems to be a lot easier to apply (particualrly since I have a flat-base JI Handi brush) and is also good to travel with. Second, because I don't have to finish it off with mineral veil or any other powder to get rid of the pearly type of finish.
Gucci - I think you would use this instead of Warmth. I guess you can use it over Warmth but that starts to sound complicated in terms of layers
kpka - put your foundation and blush on first and then apply the CR all over and concentrate a bit over the blush. Voila! |
