Has the community settled on the every 4-6 weeks protocol or the 6 weekly sessions followed by a break protocol or both?
The super mega thread "DermaRoller" (essentialdayspa tid=22460) and the fairly mega thread "The Derminator" (essentialdayspa tid=52151) showed many were trying each protocol.
There are research papers which show that even more aggressive needling caused a large and significant increase in skin thickness and collagen production (good effects!).
So providing
1. no use of products which cause inflamation and irritation at and around the time of needling (LAA vit c, retin-a, aha, etc).
2. visible inflamation time is under around 3 days (no excessive irritation, inflamation)
3. give the skin remodelling time, following the 6 sessions
has anyone found this method beneficial?
One of the pioneers of microneedling has used the 6 weekly sessions protocol for almost a decade now.
I think many of would be glad to hear from those who have done this!
Thanks |
