Hello the world!
I've posted a message about my experience (or maybe experiment?) of using natural products (first specimen Dr. Hauschka).
Can anyone suggest some good natural products besides dr. H for facial care? I went to different boutiques or online resources....I am flooded with all the different brands and really got confused of what to choose. At certain point, I even question myself that should i stick with classical products or really go for all natural/bio/organic products???
I'm a boring person who always stick to a single brand. Now I start to mix and match but feel uneasy of that. Some claim that one-line products are well complementary to each other but some claim not

JiJi - check out reviews on YonKa, Decleor and Jurlique (Jurlique is very similar to Dr Hauschka). All three brands have some really good products. |

Most natural brands have relatively high amounts of alcohol in their products, which my skin does not like at all! The only natural brand my skin accepts without protest, is the almond-series from Weleda. |

Yes I could also recomend Weleda - their products are really well priced as well:

Nemi what's the cleanser and face mask in the almond range like? I have only tried the Iris range. |

I adore the cleanser; it's a creamy milk in a tube, and it's not perfumed at all. It does a good job of removing makeup, and leaves the face feeling soft. I haven't tried the mask. I've also tried one of the creams in the almond range, but don't remember which one....
The iris-stuff smells divine! |

I have to say this. Natural or non natural means nothing, since natural based skin care can also contain non-natural preservatives or irritating ingredients for the skin. I think you would have to experiment with samples to find out what truly your skin doesn't react to.
The Alba Botanical line, looks like its a truly all natural line. I've read the ingredient listings on most of the products, and it truly lives up to its sales pitch. |

I love Eminence Organics. Threy do not have alcohol in thier products, in fact very little "fillers" at all. They are handmade in small batches in Hungary every 2-3 weeks. They are triple certified organic and use no dyes, essential oils (can be too harsh for some), or any chemicals. Been using them myself since Aug., after I tried Yonka(check out thier ingredients...not all natural), and Jurlique (which I also liked but not nearly as much). Good Luck!! |

Nemi,
There are very good natural brands out there that are alcohol-free. Also what SusieQ says is true. Just because a brand is touted as natural, doesn't mean that it will be non-irritating. But there are some brands that are natural (or organic) that are also hypoallergenic & dermatologist tested. You just have to do your research. |

Thanks for all your feedback!
Why is there often alcohol in natural products? What harm can it do to our skin?
I found a natural brand called Logona in the organic food store here. I tried their deodorant; very good product!
But I haven't tried their skin care products. Anybody knows about this?
Their prices are very affordable compared to other natural products. Does that sound fishy?

The only line of products for which I have found COMPLETELY natural ingredients lists for all of it's products is Aubrey Organics. I haven't used their skin care too much, just a little sampling (turns out I was using products for the wrong skin type so it didn't quite work for me), but their hair care products are divine and I trust their ingredients more than any other line. |

I am trying some natural brands out to try and decrease the amount of chemicals in my life.
I seem to be reacting well to Jason brand facial cleanser (D-Clog) with algae for combi skin and matching Astringent. They have a number of all natural and organic products, but I still continue to read the ingredients list. You never know what might be in there that might cause a reaction - better safe than sorry. |

Alcohol is often listed because it is used in the extraction process of the natural ingredients. However, the alcohol used (at least in Dr Hauschka and Jurlique) is alcohol that is derived from fermented grain - not alcohol like rubbing alcohol. |

Mabsy's right about alcohol being used to extract some of the herbal extracts. But that doesn't mean that there is alcohol in the finished product. We extract some of our herbal/botanical extracts using alcohol, but then we make sure that the alcohol is evaporated before it is ever formulated into a product. And any trace amounts of alcohol that might remain (<98.99%)will evaporate themselves over time, so the amount of alcohol that actually ends up in a product is really negligable.

This is what I use on a daily basis with an asterisk next to ones Ive recently incorporated. I've always loved the more holistic, natural lines, but, now it seems just about everything I use is. On the whole, I couldn't be more thrilled with them. I LOVE Yonka, Dr. H and Decleor!
Cleanser - *Yonka Gel Nettoyant, *Dr. H Cleansing Creme
Toner - Thayer's Rose Toner
Moisturizers - *Decleor Ylang-Ylang oil, *Yonka Gambol serum, Skinbio Copper Peptide Serum, *Decleor Hydra Matt lotion (on t-zone)
Eye Cream - *Juvena Ulti-Max eye
Treatment - *Yonka Juvenil (amazing, beyond brilliant stuff)
I also just ordered the Decleor Toning range of bodycare from EDS, so, looking forward to using and loving those! Now that I've lost weight and back in a size 7, it's high time my body got some love |

Hey Agave, I am quite curious about the Yonka products. I found one and only one beauty store doing this in my town. Do they have samples? |

JiJi - yes YonKa definitely do samples. I don't know if they do samples of every single product they have but the certainly have samples of cleansers/toners/exfoliators/moisturisers. I've received plenty of them with my previous EDS orders. |
