Is anyone out there transitioning to 302 skincare? I'm in week 6 of switching to 302, and still do not have any signs that my acne is clearing. In fact, my acne has gotten progressively worse. When I first started 302, I had a massive increase in small comedones. My breakouts have since progressed to be primarily cysts (they are fewer in number, but deeper and worse overall). Is it natural that my breakouts would not only increase with 302, but would actually be getting progressively worse? Has this happened to anyone else? Will 302 eventually clear this up if I continue to stick to the routine?

As an adult, the cystic acne all over my cheeks makes me feel like a freak. Sad

Dear Greenbean,
I to am transitioning into the 302 skincare regime(about 2 months) and am experiencing acne problems on my chin and nose. I am going to consult the esthetician but I am worried and would like any comments from users. I didn't really have the acne problems before starting 302 and am in my 40's. I mostly suffer from pigmentation problems and thought I was seeing some fading while using the lightening drops about 3x a week at night after cleansing. I am using the face bar and alternating with the sensitive skin cleanser in morning and at night. Then I follow with the calming mist mixed with the RX ointment for daytime. Have you gotten any feedback, what are you going to do?

Hi Natsab,

I started 302 June 4th, so I've now been on it for about 9 weeks (a little over two months). I have been seeing my esthetician every week for regular extractions. I use the face/body bar every morning and now the acne cleanser every night (I started with the sensitive skin cleanser in the beginning). I alternate between the Clarity and the Acne Drops at night, and use Ointment RX during the day.

My skin broke out like crazy! I got really bad cystic acne on my cheeks and chin (which I've never had before). My esthetician told me that 302 has a detoxing effect on the skin and that breaking out is to be expected (even if you've never had breakouts before). She also said that in her experience breakouts during the 302 transition period typically last 3 months. Some people break out worse than others, and I think I was among the worst.

I've run out of other options in terms of skincare so I decided to stick with 302 and just see if it ever improves. I am excited to say that my acne is FINALLY starting to clear up. Though, now I'm left with a ton of hyperpigmentation that will need to lighten before it will actually look better.

Now that I'm actually starting to see some improvement in my acne and my skin overall, I'm more confident going forward with 302 and I'm going to stick with it to see where it takes me. I think it's important to go "all or nothing" with 302 and not to mix products because I think this would set you back in terms of transitioning/detoxing.

Hi Greenbean,
I really appreciate you sharing that information. My esthetician did not tell me about the detox effect which is very interesting. How much do you pay for the weekly extractions? I got one "302 facial" in June and am going to get another next week. I started in June so I guess I should stick with it but I hate the breakouts. I don't know if I can last.

I want to ask my esthetician about the acne drops and cleanser. I am using the face/body bar and sensitive cleanser and I don't love the sensitive cleanser so I'm going to ask about the acne cleanser. I feel like the Ointment RX is clogging my pores. I use that in the day as well (mixed with some calming mist). So do you use the Clarity a few times a week?

I have very bad hyperpigmentation and am seeing an improvement with the lightening drops which makes me want to stick with it. I do like the philosophy behind the products and believe I was over doing it with all the chemicals etc. and my skin became unresponsive and more damaged.

I have tried everything also. I was using Obagi for the last few years and got three fraxel laser treatmetns last year. Although my skin looked better initially I think the laser treatments and Obagi use has made my skin more sensitive overall and especially to the sun. I ended up with more dark pigmentation then when I started. Although I truly think the laser had something to do with that and wish I hadn't done it.

I am having issues with the "use only 302 products". I understand why but having been addicted to sunscreen (especially on my face) and all those Obagi steps I feel like I'm not doing enough and suncreening enough. My esthetician told me the Ointment Rx has enough sunscreen for the day and has given me some mineral powder (with sunscreen)to apply over that. I forced her into letting me use the 302 tinted SPF 15 because I just couldn't believe that was enough sunscreen. (I live in sunny place and am outside with kids a lot).I've never used mineral powder either. She says I should stay with minerals only. It ends up feeling very greasy on my chin and nose by the end of the day. Are you using any make-up?

I've only been to dermatologists not estheticians. I found this one because she used the 302 products. I only went once so far to start on the products. Did you know yours prior to starting the products?

I am reading some of these threads, and simply think with the purging, people are starting with the wrong kits. The Acne kit, I didn't find comprehensive enough for all of the complexities that draw individuals to post questions and advice on this forum.
I think using an ethetician is find, but often talking directly to the 302 company itself is a much better approach.
I have some of the same problems but did an actives free trial for about 1 month with face reality. And that didn't work, so of course 302 was my next choice given how highly it is promoted on this website.
Everyone could benefit in the over 40 category, in my humble opinion. Acne is an inflammatory condition, and simply starting with the aging/inflammation starter kit is the best way to start. I think the important thing is mixing purity and repair together as a pm cleanser and disinfectant. Starting to do that made a big difference in the effects.
Also understanding that the line is focused on cell regeneration and reducing inflammatory reactions and skin conditions was the second big ah ha moment I had when moving forward with 302.
I somehow feel that most people are simply just starting with the wrong products. Not everyone can tolerate a bar soap for cleansing the face. That is my main problem with the acne kit, in addition to missing key products that are presented in the second aging/inflammation kit which are also specifically for acne and inflammation.

It is worth trialing 302 again, and working closer with the company directly to get better guidance on your routine and products.

I hope this helps. Its not inside the superstrict 302 forum but hopefully this post will encourage some more people to look towards 302 as a good answer, particularly for aging, dry, sensitive, oily, or combo acne prone skin.
