Last week I used a new to me product, Paula's Choice Resist Super Antioxidant Serum, it contains Vit C THA. I put the product on my inner elbow for 24 hours and had no sensitivity. I used the recommended amount on my face and neck. Later that evening my face felt dry so I applied argan oil.
Over the next few days my face and neck became very red and sensitive. I assume it was caused by using the argan oil after the Vit C serum. 5 days later my face is improving, although it is still red and dry with flakey skin. I am using a cleanser for sensitive skin and Vanicream facial moisturizer for sensitive skin.
I am 66 with very pale skin (except for now). My skin has never been sensitive and this issue has really surprised me.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there anything else I should try?
Thank you! |

Hey there! As someone with an autoimmune disorder, I also have very pale and sensitive skin. Unfortunately for me, every vitamin c serum I try causes me redness, irritation, and flaking. PC has a berry serum that is much more suitable for my skin. It comes in a green tube and contains great antioxidants for skin. Also, I found Vanicream moisturizer also caused me similar issues so I switched to EltaMD pm therapy and am so glad I did. Hope this helps! |
