I have been considering investing in these two products for a while now after reading all the rave reviews from celebrities/models/beauty editors in magazines. Apparently Midnight Secret is sleep in a bottle, and Midnight Star is the ultimate in radiance serums.
As they are expensive I want to make sure I am going to get wow-factor results! Anyone tried one or both of these products? What did you think? Did you get a stunning result?
I also post on the Handbag.com beauty boards and alot of the girls there have given these two products the thumbs up but I want to do my research before I splash out |

I was really jazzed to try these products about 2 months ago (after reading raves here) I approached the counter at Bloomingdales and asked about the products.
I was very surprised to learn that Midnight Star was discontinued (here in the US) over a year ago. The rep gave me a nice sized sample of Midnight Secret (I am an Entertainer and work late hours with gobs of make-up in smokey environments) I wasn't all that thrilled with the results. My skin was refreshed in the morning, but I didn't think it was overly so. I felt that my regular routine produced much the same.....
The rep also gave me a nice sized sample (ASK for the sample, she was very generous!) of the "replacement" for Midnight Star -- Diva Nora is the product name. This caught my eye right away and I really wanted to love it. It LOOKS like amazing high end product, you can gold dust flecks runnning through the clear gel-like product. BUT, once again I thought "so what" It was nice, but I found it didn't do anything "special" for me. I am just as satisfied with the effects of Smashbox primer. I won't be shelling out the big bucks, but I'd be curious to hear what you think. Check into the samples!!! |

Hi happybunny. I had my eye on these two products a while back too due to all their rave reviews (oh and those sparkly powder ball thingies too). A lovely SA gave me 3 samples of the Midnight Secret to try and I did love it. At the time it was truly a miracle in a bottle for when lack of sleep was an issue. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands on any Midnight Star because they don't do samples of that. That said, I did not buy the full sizes. For me it's a due to the price. Then again, these products are not meant to be used daily so I suppose they would last for ages.
I think that Mabsy and guapagirl have tried one if not both these products so I'm sure they'll chime in with their thoughts soon.
I'd say see if you can get a sample first. For me using the samples was enough to satisfy my "craving". HTH |

My mom is 52 this year and she can pass for a 32 yr old mom... she swears by Midnight Secret (she's been using it for the longest time)
Her bottle of MS lasts forever. she only uses one pump, maybe once a week (usually when she has a party to go to) |

I haven't tried the Midnight Star but I do have a bottle of the Midnight Secret (which was a Bday present). I'm still on the fence about this. I think I either expected too much from this, or I'm indulging my skin too much with other stuff and I therefore can't see the difference I've used it a few times overnight and while my skin looked good in the morning it didn't look as good as MUA reviews promised it would! I'll use it a few more times before making up my mind and writting a review of it. |

Thanks for your comments everyone.
I think I will definately see if I can get my hands on some samples of these two as I am expecting big things from that kind of price tag, so I would be really dissappointed if I splashed out on them and then they didn't give a good result.
Sales girls in the UK are sometimes really mean with samples but I am off for a visit to the US soon so I will try and get some samples there where the girls are much more generous!

rzecka - Guerlain Meteorites are fabulous - I thouroughly recommend anyone who is seriously into their make up get this product. I occasionally do wedding/special event make up and I always use this on people as it makes skin look so beautiful - perfect for photos.

I've tried Midnight Secret. Not impressed. Lovely rose scent though, but I don't expect anything less when they are more famous for their perfumes. |

Ah yes, Meteorites, that's what I was talking about! I still do really wanna try these but until I finish my BE Clear Radiance (which will take forever )
ps. Guerlain SA's are suprisingly generous - it can't hurt to ask. Go on, you know you want to |

I was looking forward to the nice scent but I think I have been spoilt by the likes of Jurlique and Dr Hauschka. I was expecting a similar rose scent to the rose products in the natural lines but instead got something that was half rose and half chemical. Not impressed! |
