Does one really need to use cleanser and toner twice a day ? + the facewash regardless of make up or not ?
I'm 25 years old and have finally decided to take some extra time and effort to take care of my skin.
So please advise if this sound a bit too much - Cleanser + toner + Special cleansing gel (Dermalogica) + Daily microfoliant (Dermalogica). :( (?) |

yes, you use cleanser and toner twice a day. (morning and night)
facewash is a cleanser in my understanding.
This is what I would do assuming that your skin is normal:
-Clean with Special Cleansing Gel
-tone with Multi-Active Toner
-if you do not have clogged pores use Daily microfoliant 3 times a week. If you do have clogged pores use it everyday (once a day in the morning)
In addition to cleansing and toning you can also introduce some moisturizer to your skin. If your skin is normal - Dermalogica Active Moist would be a good start.

I like using toner at night. You will want to find a toner without irritants. Dr. Brant makes a great toner with botanical ingredients. It's really refreshing. |

I don't use a toner. Do you need to use a toner if you use a good cleanser?
My skin is normal, but tends to get dry easily and I've found most toners make me dry.

I never used to use to use a toner but they are are my crutch now!!!
Try just using rose water or Dr Hauschka does a good one that won't dry your skin out. For me a toner minimises my pores after I have cleansed, again the Dr Hauschka one is good for all skin types and won't dry your skin.
The key with toner's is finding the correct one for your skin type, trust me you won't be able to live without one when you find one that works for you |

I think this largely depends on your skin. Some people just use a warm damp face washer in the morning and do not use any cleanser at all, but do use one at night. Toner is also one of those things that depends on someone's preferences. I like toners and use them twice a day (most days) but how often you use it would also depend on what they are and what ingredients they have in them (e.g. AHA toners etc).
I use the Dr Hauschka cleansing cream in the morning which is more of a gentle exfoliator/pore purifier than a cleanser. In the evening I use a cleanser and then the Dr H CC for my pores. Both morning and night I use the Dr Hauschka toner (the normal one). I also use the Jurlique Rosewater spray at the moment to set my mineral makeup. |
