Hey! I'm using skinceuticals ultimate defense spf30 sunscreen. when i apply it, its quite greasy so i have to powder over it.
can i powder straight away or do i have to let it set for awhile first.
Also, is it greasy (other review said it went on clear and good) because i am putting too much that's? my face is quite small (teenager size =p) so how much should i put? |

Hi Tynkerbell, there are most likely more informed people on this forum who can help you, but I have used Skinceuticals 30 sunscreen and I could never get it to not be greasy. You should let it soak in before you put powder on top so you might want to put on powder right before you leave the house. As for how much, I remember using about half an inch for my face and neck.
I loved Skinceutical products when I used them, but they were not the best for my very oily skin and the sunscreen (no matter how I put it on) was just always too greasy and white-ish. I hope you have better results. joani |

No, you don't really need to "set" it if you pat your powder on with a brush, so you don't take any of the sunscreen away. But the sunscreen does have a chemical agent, so the best would be to leave it for 15 minutes after application before you powder.
Putting on enough is crucial with sunscreens. The recommended amount is actually 2/5 of a teaspoon to attain the stated SPF protection. So putting too much is not really an issue. |

Hi Tynkerbell,
I would definitely recommend waiting 20 minutes before applying powder on top of the sunblock. This allows for proper absorption.
Also, from my experience, the Skinceuticals SPF 30 sunblock is NOT greasy. But maybe it's different for everyone. |

See i keep reading where people say to use an entire teaspoon on the face..which im sorry but sounds like a whole lot. I use the skinceuticals Physical spf 30 and it feels too thick..i cant just feel my skin without going "Wow i have a bunch of grease on my face". almost makes me Not want to put sunscreen on:/ |

purpleturtle, We all feel that "not want to put sunscreen on thing" at least I do with my photoderm100. Think about the good thing that you just can powder the shinies away , as a guy I just have to live with the OIL as long as it don´t break me up. |

Not a whole teaspoon but you do need 1/4 teaspoon of spf for your face. You need 1/2 teaspoon for your face and neck. |

In Australia, being a high skin cancer risk country, they teach us that each part of the body should be covered with approx ONE teaspoon of sunblock.
I've found a "TEASPOON GUIDE TO APPLYING SUNSCREEN" online though so have a look at this recommendation: http://www.mydr.com.au/default.asp?Article=3695
What it also says on there is what is often repeated by doctors in Australia. Very few people apply enough sunblock and therefore think they are getting SPF30 (or whatever) but in fact they're getting maybe a third of that. |

Listen to Mabsy! In order to get a sun protection factor of 30 from an SPF 30 sunscreen (instead of 10 or lower), proper application is crucial. A full teaspoon, or a quarter-sized amount, is necessary for the face alone. A shotglass size (at least!) is required for the body. |

I don´t know anything about a teaspoon and dont wan´t to measure with a teaspoon either, but I do use about two pea sized shape to my face. |
