Hi All.
I have the most classic type of combination skin, in which the T zone (nose, forehead, chin) is oily with visible pores and blackheads, while the cheeks, jaw and the eye area are dry and flaky. Also, tends to react to your emotions and everything you put on it. Reaction can be in the form of blemishes, redness, irritation.
So, I have been trying all kinds of products with no real results. But just a few weeks ago a friend of mine kinda suggested to try Avene Rinse-Off Gentle Gel Cleanser for normal to combination skin (they also have for oily, dry)and anti-redness cream (warm wearther protection). Well, lets just say my sknin never looked better and i am loving it. Hope someone also can benefit from it. Just "paying forward".
Enjoy and show off your beauitful skin |

Glad it is working for you. Too bad Avene is not widely available in US |

I recently received a few tiny Avene samples at my local drugstore, but they have been languishing on my shelf. I will have to try them out!
Anyone else had any experience with this brand? I had never heard of it until I was given these samples. |

Hi Cheezwiz
Yep, I went through an Avene phase. At the time my face kept getting red for no reason and wouldn't calm down. I decided I was bashing my face with too many anti-aging ingredients and I should lay off. They do some good soothing, anti-inflammatory products. I was using Soothing eye contour cream, Skin recovery cream and their Extremely Gentle Cleanser and the problem seemed to sort itself out. I'm still using the Gentle Cleanser, it really is gentle.
Also tried their Ystheal + eye contour cream, but with no obvious improvements.
Just found a little sample pack of Extreme Sunblock Cream in the cupboard myself and I'm using it on my undereyes, which I'm very pleased about. Always wanted higher protection for my eyes, but everything seems too heavy. This is really light, though it's tinted a bit pink and pale, but that doesn't look bad for the undereye area.
All round Avene's good (especially in the soothing/calming sphere) and inexpensive, but not miraculous I'd have to say.
Some of you probably only want it because you can't get it in the US. I know that feeling in reverse. M |
