Hi All,
I purchased this about 3 months ago from the Essential Day Spa after I read that Pamela Anderson uses it,and I LOVE it. I use it at night and it is so soothing for your skin. You use it alone as it replaces all other night creams, which is perfect in this humid summer weather.
A must to try!!!!
I gave my friend a sample as she thought I was a bit nuts to spend that much on a product. She only uses Dove and drugstore brands. Well, I made a believer out of her cause she is hooked and is going to buy some as well. I never thought I would see the day. This stuff really speaks for itself, the whole line is great. 30 mL has lasted for over 4 months!
Cheers |

I really like this as well and it reminds me of Valmont Bio-Cellular HP. It smells really nice too and it's perfect for humid summers. I believe this is supposed to be Jurlique's top skincare product.
I used this at night and did find though that this was not enough for my normal to combo skin when the weather got cooler and drier.

i've just purchased the herbal recovery gel this past weekend when i visited the jurlique store nearby... and have been using it day and night for the past 6 days...
i must say that i really really it... the texture is so nice!!! it soothes, and gives my irritated skin a real nice boost the very first night i used it... i was afraid the gel may not perform at its best that night because i stayed up till 3am studying ... but to my surprise, after only 3 hours of sleep, my skin looked so well-rested with a healthy glow to it that i have not seen in ages!!! the gel is very light and hydrating, making my skin feel... haah, satisfied ... it got absorbed into my skin right away and didn't create an oily film on my face that i used to get with other night serums... even my bf commented on how my skin looked so dewy, baby-soft and plump(?) that he went ahead took a bite and a pinch, ouch
guess my money is well spend and only 1 pump is needed for my entire face and neck!!! now i'm so excited and can't wait to try the rest of the samples of other jurlique products and the goodies that are coming in the EDS package... dang, why is the package not here yet |

Hello Everyone,
I just received a sample of this and am looking forward to using it.
However, I have two questions for anyone who feels like answering. 1) Can this gel be placed around the eyes and 2) would this gel be hydrating for someone with very dry, mature skin??
Thank you! |

I'm sure you will enjoy the sample. I am on my second bottle of this stuff and love it!!!!!
To answer your questions:
1. Yes, this is very gentle and came be used around the eye area, I do and have never had a problem. And I am sensitive as well. We did a comparison to the Jurlique Eye Gel and they are very much the same so I didn't bother to invest in the eye product as well.
2. In my opinion this probably wouldn't be moisturing enough for dry, mature skin at night. Although the bottle says it replaces all other creams, serums, ampules, etc I need to put a layer of moisturizer over it in the fall & winter.
I'm using a sample of their Calendula cream right now and LOVE it. Think that will be my next purchase.
The day lotion is also very nice and this would be great for dry/mature skin.
Cheers,
Andrea
PS: If you deceide to buy this I suggest buying the 100mL rather than the 30mL. It is much better value for your money and you will definetly want the bigger size once you get hooked like I did. |

Hello Miss Shoes (Andrea)
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and for all of your information. I appreciate it very much and you have been very helpful.
I hope I enjoy the product as much as you do and thanks for the tip to buy the larger bottle! A great idea. Your enthusiasm over this product is making me use the sample tonight! I can hardly wait.
Indian T, here is the list of ingredients as listed on my sample: Water; Herbal Extract Mixture from: Rose, Chamomile, Calendula, Licorice, Black Elder, Daisy, Violet, Marshmallow, Quince, Spilanthes, Echinacea, Green Tea, Grape Seed, Turmeric; Clycerine; Alcohol; Evening Primrose Oil; Xanthan Gum; Rose Hips Oil; Jojoba Oil; Glycercl Cocoate; Aloe Extract; Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid); Hydroxymethylglycinate; Lactic Acid; Grapefruit Seed Extract; Vitamin E (Tocopherol); Rose Oil; Chamomile Oil.
I'm not too sure about your second question but I think the Herbal Recovery Gel is to be worn at bedtime and the Day Lotion as a daytime moisturizer. |

I will surely be waiting to hear your opinions on the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel. From your previous posts I think we may have the same type of skin. I am still using the Rosehip Oil that you suggested to me awhile ago although I can't use anything like that on my chin area.

Hi Cheri,
It's nice to hear from you. I will surely let you know how I like the Jurlique Recovery Gel.
How do you like the Rosehip Oil. I recently purchased from Saffronrouge their Harmony Face Care Oil that contains a blend of Rosehip Oil plus other essential Rose Oils (like Geranium) plus Evening Primrose Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil and Vitamin E. I find that I like it much better than just the Rosehip Oil. First, it doesn't have that orange color. Second, although it is a richer mix of oils it goes on much silkier and smoother (I know that doesn't make a lot of sense but it's hard to describe, let's just say I like the texture better.) It also comes in a pump bottle which I also like. It was Saffronrouge that gave me the sample of the Jurlique Recovery Gel. It's my second favourite place to order from, after EDS. |

Hi Indian T,
The amount of alcohol in teh herbal gel has got to be very small, probably just as a preservative. Ask for a sample, cause I am 99% sure this will not irriate your skin.
I have combo, sensitive skin that will breakout if I use heavy creams & cosmetics, espically my problem is with foundations.
This gel is really awesome for all skin types. There is no way it will burn or irriate. You see, there is reallysomething to be said for holistic based skin care. Jusrlique & Dr.H will help to balance your skin. I am using my sample of the Jurlique Calendula Cream which is recommended for combo skin and I LOVE it too.
I've used rosehip oil as well, but mainly around my eyes to prevent dryness.
Look forward to reading your results.
Cheers! |

Indian T., I understand your concerns re the alcohol, but I doubt that this is "Isopropyl Alcohol."
If Jurlique is like Dr.Hauschka's products then the herbs and flowers used in the skin care products are extracted in a mixture of alcohol and water. However, this is alcohol distilled from fermented fruits or grains.
I will post my results with the herbal recovery gel. I have the most sensitive skin on the planet so if something does not irritate me, then I seriously doubt it is capable of irritating anyone |

Argh! You ladies make me want to repurchase this again! I must admit it IS nice, though at times I felt that it wasn't moisturising enough. I haven't heard any other reviews mention that though. It can be used around the eye area btw with no problems.
ps. I think this is supposed to be one of Jurlique's "star" products. |

thanks for all the info, was much help in clearing my alcohol problem.
Ok I am going to order this, I just tried some from the sample i got with my last order. I have used it twice, and only had few red bumbs but no irritation or redness.
Just wanted to know, how often do you use this gel. Do you alternate with other products? |

Hi,
I use this product at night only, after toner/rose hydrosol. I put it on and then right before bed I use a layer of moisturizer.Right now am using Phytomer Hydra Continue but I had a smaple size of Dr.H Rose Cream and was using this at night before bed and I LOVED it.
It says on the bottle to use at night. I'd stick to a regular cream with SPF for daytime. |

Moshimoshi,
not too sure on this really. I'd stick with using the Jurlique at night. You can still use the Juvenil to spot treat anyway. However the creme 15... perhaps alternate? I'm just guessing here though. Wait and see what others suggest.... |

I have been a Herbal Recovery Gel devotee for almost three years and it is definitely a Holy Grail product for me. I am almost 31 and I constantly get carded at the bar. I think my skin looks better now than when I was 27! It gives my skin the youthful glow it used to have when I was younger. When I lived in Australia I used to frequent the Jurlique Day-Spa in Melbourne and they scolded me for putting it the Recovery Gel around my eyes! The beauty therapists said it was too strong and was not meant for the delicate skin around the eyes. Which was kinda weird 'cos I am sure one of the assistants in the Jurlique store told me that it was okay to do so. But I would be more inclined to listen to the beauty therapists as I am sure their training would have been more comprehensive. I also have acne prone sensitive skin and I find as long as I have a gentle cleanser and moisturiser and only use the tiniest amount, this stuff does not break me out or give me rashes. I used to use the whole Jurlique line (cleanser, floral water, moisturizer, AHC, cleansing cream, eye gel etc) but I found in the end I got rashes around the sides of my face so now I only use Herbal Recovery Gel alone with other more gentle products and it seems to work great! |

My mother has this product, and I have been contemplating getting it for myself for a long time. However, I've just switched to Dr. Hauschka skincare, and they reccomend not using any night cream, etc. at night to let your skin "breathe" -- but I wonder if this gel, since it's so light, might give me a little bit of moisture without clogging my pores and interfering with the whole "skin breathing" thing?? |

I really like Dr Hauschka's products also, but I find that they tend to clog my pores and give me blackheads if I use them all the time. I tried the Rhythmic Night Conditioners for a few months at night (they recommend this to get your skin used to no night creams) but I gave up after I thought my skin did not look better but dryer and duller. I think I like using night creams! I just would make sure they are not too heavy.
Jurlique also have a Herbal Recovery Mist, which is designed for night use. I have extremely problem skin and this broke me out so I gave it to my mother and she thought it was great! It might work for you. I think it is cheaper than Herbal Recovery Gel also. I like using the Recovery Gel at night I don't think it would be too heavy.
I heard somewhere (I am not sure if it is true, a Dr Hauschka shop assistant told me) that Dr Jurgen (Jurlique) used to work for Dr Hauschka. There are quite a few similarities with their products, but I have noticed Jurlique include Lactic acid (from milk) in their products which is probably why they don't clog my pores as much and I'm pretty sure I read in booklet I got from Dr Hauschka that they do not believe in using any hydroxy acids as they say they damage the skin.
My favourites are:
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel, Neck Serum, Face wash cream and I absolutely LOVE Jurlique's Moor Purifying mask.
Dr Hauschka Rejuvenating Mask and Moisturizing Mask. |

Thanks so much for the input Misskatblack! I might give the Mist a try. I seem to remember that my mother has that too, and loves it.
Thanks also for sharing your experiences with Dr. Hauschka. I am starting to think that my skin may not get used to not using night cream either. We'll see. When I finish my course of Rhythmic Night Conditioner, I actually might start working in a nighttime moisturizer again.
Anyway, I've used the Jurlique masks that you mentioned, and they really are very nice. You can't beat Jurlique for *wonderful* smelling natural skincare!

Hello Everyone,
Can anyone tell me what's the differences between those four types of Herbal Recovery Gel? I saw that EDS only have one choice for the Herbal Recovery Gel. I really want to try this product after reading so many good reviews. Well, my list of to try product is getting way too long |

I think you may be referring to the Herbal Recovery Mists. They are quite different to the Recovery Gel and are to be used at night. They come in different formulas. AG - Ageless/Normal Dry, DS - Delicate/Sensitive, MD - Mature/Dehydrated and OP - Oily/Problem
I bought one once (DS) but it broke me out. I really love the Herbal Recovery Gel though. It really is awesome stuff. |
