Hey girls,
I am not sure if I am washing my make-up brushes too often, which is after each use, everyday...
How often do you guys wash them?

Hi Aga,
Yes, I would think that is a little too often. If your brushes are made of natural hair, and you wash them often, you would damage them.
I wash my face powder brush when it starts to lose its softness due to makeup and oils being stuck on the brush tips, which is probably every month or so. I use a makeup remover to take off the makeup and oils, then use a gentle foaming face cleaner to clean it till the warm water runs clear. I then squeeze the brush dry and give it a couple of hard shakes to get residual water out. I stick it upside down in a roll of toilet paper to dry.  |

| Hello, there! I wash my foundation brush(and brushes I use more often that get dirtier) once a week or once every other week. Once a month in general is good for keeping your brushes clean I think or once every couple of weeks, it depends on how heavily you use them. I use J&J Baby Wash Shampoo and lukewarm water. I gently wash the the brush hairs and lay them on the edge of the sink or a towel to dry then I fluff, reshape the hairs once they are dry. Try to get only the heads of the brushes wet, though, and not the handles or the part where the head is glued to the handle. Hope that helps some! |

| I wash mine every Sunday except the foundation brush which is washed daily. |

| I wash my brushes once a week. However, liquid foundation brushes and cream blush brushes (i.e. "wet" brushes) I wash after every use. |

| I wash mine when they loose thier shiny luster. Than I just use whatever shampoo I have lying around. The best way to dry them is on thier sides. When you leave them upside down to dry the moisture can buildup at the base of the bristles and it shortens the life of the brush. |

| I understand what you mean by moisture building up at the base of the bristles. However, I have been using the same brush and washing and drying it upside down for more than 10 years, it's still as good and as soft as when I first bought it! Maybe because I really shake it well to get excess water out first. |
