Hi!
My name is Veronica and I’m new around here. First of all I REALLY love this forum!! (Thanks to you I have been spending a lot of money ).
I’m 26 years old with combination skin, no wrinkles but I have a very deep laugh lines since very young, I starting to see large pores in my cheeks and I have a few red acne marks that I can’t get rid of them. What do you guys recommend me? Do you think ADCE or Ester’s secret is good for me or is too strong?? What else I need to use? My biggest concerns are the laugh lines, any suggestions?
I would really appreciate your help!!
Right now I’m using:
Dermalogica Microfoliant
Vit C Serum
Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion (feels dry)
Cellcosmet eye cream (I think, cause me milia)
Dermalogica Active Moist
Jergens Natural Glow

I was going to suggest the Microfoliant and vitamin C serum but I see you're already on that track I think the vitamin C together with the exfoliation will help heal up the acne marks, but you should give it some time.
In terms of the pores, I would highly recommend the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream. It's done wonders for my skin in terms of clearing out pores and thus making them disappear. Do a search on the Dr H cleansing cream and see if this is something that you might like to use or not.
The laugh lines are a bit difficult. I think you should benefit from an argireline product but I also notice that you're not using any sunblock. So, I think the most important thing for you to incorporate at this stage is sunblock. ADCE does have some sun protection, I think it's SPF15 but I'm not sure. |

Thanks Mabsy, I knew I can count on you!!, I use SPF but I forgot to tell
How do you use ADCE??, I want to give it a try, but I'm afraid is going to cause me acne. I wish Winnie could give me some advice .
What do you think about Ester's secrets mask, is a good idea for young skin??, a want to try it for my laugh lines, but I'm afraid is going to be strong for my skin.
Any recommendation of a good skin care regime?
PS: I have been practicing my written skills in English, so if something is not making sense, I apologize, I'm really trying my best. |

Wow, Veronica, I would never have known writing in English was not second nature for you, it reads great! Maybe pm Winnie if you need her advice? I'm sure she would help you out. Annette |

Hi,
If you want to try AlphaDermaCE I suggest that you just get the 1 ounce size. At your age you do not need to use it on your whole face. Lucky You!!! I also agree with Mabsy that you should use a Vit. C product. Vit. C I believe should be started at 10%. Oh yes, exfoliate. There are several good products out there. EDS sent me a sample of the Derm. Microfoliant. It is a lovely product.
After you wash your face you should apply a little AlphaDerma to your laugh and frown lines. Rub it in gently until absorbed. AlphaDermaCE is not oily at all and I have no recall of anyone breaking out from it.
If you only use AlphaDerma on your problem areas you will need to apply an SPF on your face. You are very young so I am thinking that your laugh lines could be from dehydration. With a good skin care routine you should be able to see results quickly. Drink lots of water!!!
Esthers Secret is a Firming Masque. You can contact Judy Marshall if you need more information on ES Masque. I did use it a long time ago but don't feel I am as knowledgable as other. Perhaps Lori will give you some info.

Gatineau Melatogenine Focus cream is good for the laughter lines. I had a frown mark between my eye brows, it wasn't that noticeable (but I noticed it) and the Gatineau did the trick for me, I don't have it anymore. EDS sell it but it works out more expensive if you buy from here, so shop around. |

Veronica - don't worry, your English is great!
I'm glad to hear you're using SPF over the products you use. I see Winnie already gave you advice on the ADCE so I will chime in on the Esther's Secret mask. I haven't used it before but I believe that at your age you do not yet need an argireline mask but should perhaps spot treat with a serum (and I think Esther's Secret also sells a serum formulation, I'm not sure). My reasoning here simply stems from my impression that the mask is a quick pick-me up especially for special occasions and that you should also be using a regular argireline serum at the same time. That's my impression but I have been known to be wrong... if I am then I'm sure someone will chime in and correct me |

Hi and welcome Veronica,
I use and love ES mask but I agree with Mabsy. I don't think it would benefit you that much at the moment. At my age 40+ we are supposed to use it 2-3x a week for the first 90 days and then weekly for maintainance. I guess if you wanted to try it you could get away with using it say 1x a month, it wont harm you but you probably wont notice any great benefits. Of course I could be wrong and Judy might have better advice but she seems to have dissappeared from forum lately. As usual I haven't really helped. Sorry. |

Hi Veronica,
I'm 26 as well, had shocking skin for the last 10 years, I guess it's the humid climate plus having been a smoker up until recently.
Once I started with the Dr Hauschka line everything started to calm down, and my skin is near flawless again. I do not use anything else but Dr H. Over the years I've tried every department store crap including the most expensive brands that claim to make miracles happen. Nothing worked. Now I know that the night creams I was using all these years have totally wrecked my skin. Dr H advises against the use of night creams and boy was he right.
All of you who think you can't possibly go without it need to give it a try. You're skin has become dependant on night creams that's all. Night time should be for detoxing, come the morning we all spread the pore clogging stuff on again. So if we suffocate our skin at night as well when will it ever get the chance to breathe?
Anyway, it worked for me.
Hope this helps. |

I strongly agree with Mabsy that you do not need to use a product with Argireline all over your face. Spot treating would be the way for you to go.
Good Luck,
Winnie |

I’m so excited for all your replies, you are wonderful girls!! About my English, I’m learning a lot of new words thanks to you!!!
Winnie , do you think I need the skin prep as well, or just the ADCE?, Do you think Relax-A line is it the same thing that ADCE?, I don’t think my laugh lines are for dehydration, I drink lots of water and is the only wrinkles I have so far, besides this laugh lines had been with me since my teen years, probably because I had chubbier cheeks at that time.
I’m going to give Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream a try, I’ll report you later…
Sarahb, I never hear of the Gatineau Melatogenine Focus cream, I’m going to do my research, thanks.
Zen which products of Dr. H do you use? What is your skin type?
So far I need:
Cleanser (any suggestion)
Vit C
Argireline product
Moisturizer
SPF
Something else?

Both Relaxaline and AlphaDerma have 10% Argireline. AlphaDerma contain a lot of other ingredients for firming, antitoxins and SPF 15. I have heard good things about Relaxaline but I can't comment personally as I have never used it. The JB Mineral Prep is lovely and a wonderful base for AlphaDerma. When I first starting using AlphaDerma the Prep was not yet available. AlphaDerma on its own will show improvement. The mineral Prep just speeds things up. As you explain your facial structure I am sure the folds by your mouth have nothing to do with aging. Our faces and individual features is what makes us unique. No one is going to be totally satisfied ever Try not to be critical of yourself. Enhance your best features. I have puffy under eye area (fat deposits). I really dislike them. I have found that I look much better with glasses on. For me that is an enhancement.
If you use a light concealer in the folds of your cheeks they will not show up as much. You can do magic with cosmetics. I use Laura Huttons FACE DISC. Take a look at her site and see what you can do. You do not have to use her products to use corrective cosmetic treatments.
I sent you a PM to explain more. |
