Has anyone tried this Deception face cream? It's been "seen on" everything from magazines to Oprah - the website seems a bit over -excited, non-professional, so I'm skeptical unless anyone's gotten any great results (and please NO postings from distributors!!!!) |

I haven't tried the cream, but noticed you created a post on dark circles. Just keep in mind that emu oil does produce melanin - which will make your skin darker - so u may want to use caution around your dark circles. |

I tried deception as it sounded so promising. It did absolutely nothing for me. I purchased it to soften my fine lines and wrinkles. NO GO!!! After 3 weeks I ended up tossing it. |

Fairlyfair, thank you so much for your post regarding Emu oil and my dark circles. It seems like the more obsessive I get about my "imperfections" the more harm I can potentially create for my self (physically AND emotionally!) I have come to terms with many things about myself over the years (my frizzy hair, my "curvy" figure...) but there always seems like there's something more to obsess on, especially now that I've turned 30. Your reply reminded me that I have alot to be grateful for and I should concentrate on those things, not that new wrinkle or grey hair or brown spot... Lessons in Vanity |

Fairlady,
Can you point me to articles or what not regarding emu oil producing melanin? I just ordered some emu oil for my face. Want to read up on the side effects before using it. All the posts I have seen were praises.
Thanks! |

I put a post on it here from a patent report a while back. I'll do a search and see if I can dig it up again |

Here's the post:
I did a little research and found the website.
http://www.follicle.com/section3/3_7_1.html
Here's the abstract:
ABST: The present invention is directed to the discovery that topical or parenteral administration of emu oil to a mammal stimulates the proliferation of skin. Emu oil can be used to treat skin wrinkles and rejuvenate aged and photo-damaged skin. It has also been discovered that emu oil can be topically applied to stimulate melanogenesis in the skin and to stimulate hair growth. Thus, emu oil is useful to treat pigmentation disorders such as hypopigmentation, stimulating melanogenesis to enhance skin tanning, and treating disorders relating to disturbances in hair cycling such as alopecia, male pattern baldness, female baldness, and chemotherapy-induced alopecia. |

I know this forum is old, but I wanted to add my experience since this forum had originally turned me off to trying emu oil. I have dark circles under my eyes, eczema, and am allergic to every eye cream out there. I was having problems with my eye area becoming red and itchy with other eye products, but needed something to keep them moisturized since I live in such a dry climate and needed something for my wrinkles as I am 36. Emu oil not only keep my skin hydrated and soft, but within the first week of using it, it has greatly improved my dark circles and I would highly recommend it. Emu oil is known for evening out skin tone and mine looks just that, more even and brighter. I have olive skin coloring and am not sure if my dark circles are due to heredity or allergies, but I have had them since high school. I put it on at night and even in the morning under my makeup. |

I use pure emu oil as a moisturiser and it is fantastic. It calms my reactive skin and keeps my skin hydrated all day long. I've noticed no adverse effects at all. |

I'm glad you posted your positive effects from using Emu oil, jnghazzard & PosyLee, since I was a little worried after reading the above post.
I know that Skin Biology reccommends using emu to push in their copper peptide products (it does that too) and their recomendation also probably has to do with the moisturizing benefits of it.
It also sounds like a MUST to add on top of Skin Bio's Folligen products since both of them stimulate hair growth. |

Hi All,
I stumbled onto this site and was thrilled to have found it. Talk about a wealth of information.
I have also used emu oil with success. I was diagnosed with a mild case of Rosacea. I had one spot on each cheek that was red and scaly looking. It felt tender and dry. I put a very small amount of emu oil on it at night. It made a HUGE difference. The spot healed.
I recently had plastic surgery on my eyelids and have been using emu oil on my incision. My skin feels so much better. I use very little and it is too early to say if it will help fade the scar any faster, but my skin feels fabulous when I have it on there. My incision looks better since I started using it.
I'm by no means an expert, but emu oil is something I always make sure to have on hand. |

Me too. It's a must-have for me. If one of my "experiments" causes my skin to flare up I can always rely on emu oil to calm things and bring my skin back to normal. |

Count me in, my skin isn't dry or reactive at all just very normal, but it's a definite staple in my arsenal of oils! |

It is the third day I've been using the emu oil on my incisions. They feel great and really appear to be healing well. |

Just a little BTW, I have a couple of kids that do have a tattoo or 2 and Emu Oil works great for after care! None of the normal itching and they healed so very fast it's amazing! |
