does your daughter use?
I bought the Jan Marini Body Block SPF 30 Waterproof some time ago. Maybe it's where I got it from online, but it's separated, which makes me suspicious that it's still potent even though the expiration date is 2006.
Do you or does anyone know if separation is normal for this product?
It's also pretty greasy, which I don't care for but maybe there's a different JM sunblock that people prefer?
Thanks! |

The Jan Marini product we use is: Jan Marini Skin Research Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30. I have loved this product for years and NEVER have seen it separate. As far as being greasy. I think that is what I like about this block. In the summer I can get oily and find this products lovely and light. I am wondering if you got a bad batch.

Tea, I've got the Jan Marini anti-oxidant one that Winnie posted a link to. I've got normal (some products make me dry) skin and this is too drying for me. I'm saving it for the humid weather. It will be perfect for that it really clings to your face. I'd thoroughly recommend this for very oily people it seems to drink up any moisture in your skin. |

You gals rawk!
Okay, I picked up the JM version you specified. Found a spa in town that sells it. They were very nice and brought an aesthetician out to speak with me.
She'd gone to a JM seminar recently and was very helpful.
Said to use about a penny-sized drop, start at the chin and work the lotion up the face. (Seems like an awfully small amount to use. How much do you think provides adequate coverage?) Are also supposed to press it into the skin. Her demonstration reminded me a bit of the Dr. H. CC discussions here.
She also said that you should use it under your eyes.
I'm pretty scared to try that after my recent incidents with undereye irritation. How near the eye do you all go? I do think it's important to add protection but...
I appreciate the tip about it being non-greasy to drying for some folks, Molly. I may find it too drying but am hoping I can offset that with moisturizer underneath it...we'll see.
Thanks again! |

What is the texture like of the sunscreen? a penny size amount of sunscreen isn't enough for the face..you are supposed to apply it liberally ... |

Tea,
I found that a small amount of JM SPF spread lovely and I needed very little. When I use her SPF I feel protected all day. Yes, I apply is around my eye area and have no problem. My eyes can be really sensitive also. Give it a try around the eyes and see how you do. I still don't like the idea that your product separated. Perhaps JM has changed her formula since I bought it late last Spring. I will be repurchasing it with the summer coming. In the winter I only wear a 15 SPF.
