Because EDS carries so many great brands how do pick yours? what tempts you away from a current product to try something new? Is a good review or recommendation? I know I tried Yonka juvenil & creme 15 before expanding in their range because of a review - same with the Dermalogica microfoliant.
I'm asking because there are many brands listed that we don't seem to review - or am I imagining things?
P.s if this is in the wrong forum please boot it elsewhere |

Hi Eve,
I can be pretty analytical and systematic in my selection of products. I am so annoying that I actually went about my 'steps to be done' before loading the cart.
Step 1) What products do I ACTUALLY need at the moment?
Step 2) Assessing my current skin needs - is the product really relevant to my skin needs despite rave reviews in the forum?
Step 3) Established brand names? (I am not that adventurous.)
Step 4) Analyse all the products you are interested in and look for reviews in the forums. (That way, you can drop products off, if they don't seem to be right for you.)
Step 5) If the product has no reviews yet but it seems to be the one which your skin craves for, then go for it. |

I buy based on reviews posted here, like I am eyeing IS clinical, but I'm not sure which one so I am reading Katee's review. |

I tend to have an idea of what I am after, then in order to pin down a brand I go off reviews.
It really is suprising how many times I've thought that I really need something, then have read tons of reviews saying the product I am after is crap, so I will end up not bothering |

it's good to know reviews have aided others in their selection. I must admit I am slack on reviewing I keep telling myself to give feedback as other peoples reviews have helped me. |

I buy products based on their ingredients. I'm always on a quest to find the most effective and purest products out there. |

I usually have a product in mind (by internet "window" shopping or reading mags) and I then check reviews of a product. One good review will do for me if it's from an established member that I trust, but multiple reviews are best. Of course, by reading reviews that get posted here I also find products that I did not consider trying before and end up trying them as well |

i buy based on [a]the % of actives and how many fillers and stuff like parabens are in it. I really try to avoid stuff with parabens as I think there are concerns over the safty of them, even in small amounts. Because of this, I never buy anything that does not have the ingredients listed.
[2]I then check out the reviews. If they are good I'll buy |

Recently its been that if Carrie says its good, I need to have it. Note to Carrie: please stop finding products that are only available in the US |

I agree Eve. EDS does seem to go round in small circles limited to a small range of brands. I think this works better for me though. I only buy things based on seeing enough good reports from people with similar skin and I've been really pleased with nearly everything. It's lovely, I wasted such a lot of money before. |
