Friday I received my Jan Marini sunscreen. I bought it because it says that it has microspheres that absorb oil. This is the best oil control product that I have ever tried. I can cut some of the other 'oil control' products out of my regime and just use this sunscreen.
The only complaint that I have is that it has a rather strong pineapple/coconut smell. I read on makeup ally that the smell goes away after application, but for me it lasts for quite awhile...but it is a small price to pay to get rid of the oilys. |

What oil control products did you cut out? This sounds fantastic. So what are you using now- if that is ok to ask you?
I will be very happy the day i find the right thing to take away the oily shine on my forehead. Maybe should try this.
Thanks

Hi Sadie,
I'm so happy there is another Jan Marini sunscreen convert out there! I've been singing it's praises for quite a while now. It leaves such a nice velvet feel on the skin, not slippery at all! I know what you mean about the smell, but I guess I'm used to it by now. Have you tried the tinted version yet? I don't think it's as "dry" as the regular version, but it does give a nice glow.
I have used almost every sunscreen in the universe for my oily skin (and I live in humid Florida to make matters worse!) and Jan Marini's is the only one I purchase over and over again. I use many of her products. Do use any other products of hers? Best, Joani |

well, first I will tell you that I try to keep my regime as minimal as possible, but it is very hard because I keep buying all these wonderful items, thanks to all the EDS gals!!
I have always been extremely oily...not always acnaic, but always oily. I tell you the 'oil reducing' products that I have used. Obviosly, they haven't worked for me, as they are sitting in the back of my bathroom cabinate.
decleor ylang-ylang oil and balm
Dr. H normalizing day oil
jane irdale absence
Trish McEvoy oil control gel
All of Yonka's oil control products
Gosh I know there is more, but it is 12:30am and I can't seem to think of them right now...and that doesn't count masks, cleansers and makeup that I have tried to reduce oil.
Right now, I am using MD forte Glycol II cleanser in the morning, Glycal II lotion, SC Vit C 20 and JM sunscreen. At night, I use Cellcosmet cleansing gel, Glycol II lotion and retin A.
I have not tried any other Jan Marini products. Any other suggestions. I am kind of afraid to try her C products, as I understand she uses the same vit C theory as dr. perricone. I tried his vit C products on a whim (don't know why because I love SkinCeuticals) and my face looked awful and broke out horribly. |

Has anyone tried Aesop B Triple C Balancing Gel? I have oily t-zone and until now haven't found any solution to it. I have visited the Aesop counter and the salesgirl recommended me to use it. I have checked online and found it has one review @ http://www.mankind.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=22475
If you have used it, please comment... |

Furry Fish -
There are two glowing reviews for it on MakeupAlley:
on 31Jan05, Abcuio wrote: This is really hard to apply since it's so THICK, and STICKY. But the results are amazing, my skin tone is more even, and definately smoother. 1900NT-($5 for 60ml is a reasonable price. TIP: Spray water before applying will let this stuff soak in faster. I prefer Avene's thermal water.

It contains "one part Vitamin B to three parts stabilised Vitamin C." This product comes in a brown screw-top glass jar that is typical of Aesop products. My skin is loving this gel product - less oily on the T zones, provides enough hydration and leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed. I normally put a small amount on my palms and warms it up slightly before applying. It is a bit tacky after application but dries very quickly. I have had no problems using my normal moisturiser on top and have not had any breakouts. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I have to dip my finger into the jar - wish they would come up with better packaging. Retails AUD 79 for 60 mL.
If you try it yourself, be sure to let us know if it works for you! |

Hi carekate,
Thanks again for the recommendations on Aesop B Triple C, I have bought it and used it for the past one month and I can see that my skin is brighter and also my colour tone is now more even. My face has become less oily.
Applying Aesop B Triple C on my face is a little bit tricky because it is in fact very sticky and thick. Therefore, I usually put two drops of Aesop B Triple C on my palm and then mix it with three drops of toner. I blend it together with my toner before applying it on my face. On the storage part, I managed to use an old bottle which comes with a dropper to keep the sticky Aesop B Triple C, so that I no need to use a spatula to get it out of the container. |
