Ok girls this question is actually for my fiance who has very greasy skin and lots of visible pores all over his nose and cheek area which are plagued by blackheads or are just filled all the time. What are some good products to clean out/shrink the pores? He really doesn't have acne/pimples but his skin is somewhat sensitive.
I've tried a Neutrogena pore-refining cleanser on him but while it works, it doesn't clean out the pores enough...
My skin is really dry so I'm at a loss to help him out here. We want to get his face in shape for the wedding. THANKS!
Toni

Get him to use any cleanser he's compfortable with, what about the Dermalogica range?
I would definatley recomend a toner (witch hazel and if he will use it Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in) and as for moisturiser, probably an oil free such as Nivia oil free or again one from the Dermalogica range.
Now if he really wants to look and be in tip top condition for the wedding I'd gget him to take a good multi-vitamin and zinc about 30mg a day, it would be good for you to take some too as Zinc tends to make you horny but it is great for the skin, also was reading that males loose a big percent of Zinc every time they ejaculate
Oh wow I love weddings, lots of people watching and dressing up |

Using a good salicylic acid based peel and/or mask would help. This really cleans out the pores. |

Hello, there!
In the past, I have had great results using Paula's Choice 2% BHA and Dermadoctor.com Porefection Pore Minimizing Solution. I also find using a good mask each week like Astara Blue Flame Mask(beware this is really strong) or Queen Helene Mint Julep masks helps, too. Also, the Aspirin mask helps as well. |

The personal formulator.com sells pure salicylic acid that you can mix with glycerin, etc. to make your own SA mask. This really works for me in terms of getting rid of the nose blackheads etc. I do a 1 to 1 mixture and leave on for a scant two minutes but it seems to do the trick. |

I'm with the SA mask suggestions....see how he does with that, -- once his skin decongests - I'd put him on the DM microfoliant and (one I'll always recommend...) the Dr. Hauschka cleansing cream; used properly, this is the best skin decongestant I've ever used.

I really second the Dr Hauschka cleansing cream - it is fantastic at cleaning out pores but it must be used properly (which he could find a bit tedious). This product by itself has done wonders for my skin and I will continue to buy this (or the Jurlique one which has the same results). |

Thanks for all the info girls! So I have a question, does the Dr. H cleansing creme need to be used after he cleans his pores out (with something like a SA mask) or can it actually be used to clean them? Also, after he cleans them out is there something he can use to tighten the pores?? When they're empty they're like little holes just waiting to be filled up again! |

The cleansing cream itself cleans out the pores over time and they appear to be much smaller (because they're not filled up). However, it might be good to use a deep cleansing mud mask (or some other mask) after using this cleanser as well (say, once or twice a week). |
