I was just looking through the B. Kamins products on EDS and realised that I don't know much about them and haven't read much about them on here either. The lovely (but temporarily-absent) Carekate sent me a sample of the B Kamins Maple Body Lotion and that was really nice (although it was quite light). I am just sitting here looking at the cleansers in particular - has anybody tried them and would recommend them? Any other "star" products in the line? TIA
*Edited to add: Woa! I just realised that their hand cream has an SPF of 20. I've been looking for a hand cream with SPF for ages. MUA has only two reviews of this currently but they're both 100% and rating 5. Any feedback from EDS members? This could be the hand cream I've been looking for for years!!!! |

Hey Mabsy
Ive been meaning to post up reviews of my Ben Kamins products ages ago but have just never got round to it. But your post has spurred me to comment on them now so here goes.
To be honest, because you dont have acne prone skin this wont be much use to you but should give you the idea that this is a quality line. Ive been using two items from the range:
B.Kamins Hydrating Acne Wash
B.Kamins 10% Acne Gel
I got both at amazing prices on ebay from a stockist of Ben Kamins products, if you want to know her name pm me and ill rummage around for her name again.
Anyway, getting to the actual review. First the hydrating acne wash. Ive been using this for about 6 weeks. I think its really, really good. Its the consistency of a maple syrup - a gelly-runny-bordering-on-water type consistency and does not foam even in the slightest. I found this extremely strange at first but then realised thats probably why its hydrating - if it was extra foamy it would proobably dry out the skin. When I wash this off it is *SO* moisturising and my skin is so smooth and clear afterwards. It really has assisted in the clearing of my skin. The only other cleanser that left my skin this smooth was Sircuits X-trap but I decided I didnt like the fact there were no acne-banishing ingredients within it, so once that was gone, I introduced this and its now definetly a staple.
Secondly - the acne gel is also amazing. Within hours after putting this on my skin was smoother adn my acne lesions a lot less inflamed. Its very rare that I get this result from a product.
I reckon the secret to their success is this furtive Bio-Maple compound that we dont really know much about. It adds mega moisturising power to the product, proof of which is definetly evident from the acne-fighting products which you would never expect to be so.
My mother is also using the B. Kamins Therapeutic Anti-Ageing Moisturiser and loves it. Shes only been using it 2 weeks and loves the fact that its so moisturising. Its a tad pricey but again I got a smashing deal from this Ebay stockist.
Ive only experience of the products mentioned so far, which are probably not aimed at your skin type but trust me Mabsy this is not some hocus-pocus line. I think youd really benefit from trying to get your hands on some samples and making the decision for yourself that way. Thats how I got into the line!
Hope that sort of helps.

Thank you Farouk for the info and Liz for the suggestion.
Farouk - as I was going through the products in the line I kinda figured out that most of it would not suit me. It's really good to hear though that the products are effective. Perhaps you should post that in the Product Reviews section as a separate review? Just an idea.
Liz - I haven't heard of the Lubriderm Daily UV with SPF although, looking at the description on drugstore.com, it does look good. Of course, this is not available in Australia (AFAIK) and it would cost a fair bit in postage, given the size of it, if I wanted to get it from the US. I think I might make myself the EDS B Kamins hand cream experimental rabbit |
