Hi
I am 26, and have got combination skin that is rather oily at the T-zone. I have been experiencing a terrible breakout that is taking ages to heal.
My skin is also sensitive and dehydrated and I've got blocked pores, no thanks to the perennial hot and humid weather here.
Can anyone recommend anything that will help clear breakouts and prevent future breakouts? I've tried so many products including Dermalogica's medicated clearing gel with no results.
I read that YonKa juvenil and Cream 15 are good. Can anyone out there provide some advice?
Thanks a bunch! |

I've also read good things about the Yonka products you mentioned but haven't tried them myself yet so hopefully someone else will able to comment on that. Something else you could consider is either the DR H Cleansing Cream or the Face Wash Cream by Jurlique. Both of them are to be used on a cleansed face, they're like a deep clean/gentle exfoliant type thing that you press/roll onto your skin and they basically suck up the gunk from your pores. I've been using the Jurlique one for a few weeks now and it has really helped clear up the pores around my nose and cheeks. No miracles, but they do look a lot cleaner and therefore smaller. Plus, it doesn't dry or irritate my skin. I could even go without moisturiser afterwards. |

Princesita,
Thanks lots! I am currently starting on Jurlique's herbal recovery gel. Hope it would help.
I understand that Jurlique's face wash cream is supposed to be used in conjuction with a few drops of AHC in warm water (rose, lavender, pine etc). Do you follow this routine? If you do, which AHC did u choose?
Thanks once again. |

Joycemhtan, I use it with the Lavender/Lavandin AHC. Let me know how you like the Herbal Recovery Gel. It's one of those things that I keep meaning to try but still haven't! |

I would really recommend the Dr Hauschka or the Jurlique cleansing cream to you. It does do a very good job of cleaning out the pores. Being in humid Singapore you will not need anything more than the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel after you use the cleanser as it does not strip your skin at all. I hope the Herbal Recovery Gel works well for you, it is a lovely product. However, realistically speaking, if you don't have a good exfoliation routine then it's not going to work as it's the dead skin cells that are blocking your pores and causing breakouts. Also, regarding the Jurlique AHC - I do use this sometimes when I use the cleansing cream but I don't think it's a critical step in the routine.
The Juvenil and Creme 15 are both very good products and have been very effective for me. The only thing I would suggest for you is that you try out the texture of the Creme 15 before you buy it because it may not be the best for the hot and sticky Singapore climate.
Actually, if you go the route of using the cleansing cream, followed by the Juvenil, followed by the Herbal recovery gel then that *should* improve your current skin situation. |
