Hi there! Can anyone help me before I completely burn out my retinas reading all of the great posts on this site!I am in my (late!)40's and up till now been blessed with good skin but time appears to have caught up with me suddenly. As I am getting married in August can anyone recommend something that will give me an instant "facelift" effect for the day, also something that will eradicate my under eye lines for the day,and also have an effect on a hideous nose to mouth fold and line that I weirdly just have on one side of my face!?
I was promised great results from Guerlain (jury still out - not really convinced) and am now considering Murad, Joey NY,Cellex C, Skinceuticals,Decleor etc but am running out of time-I need something that I know will work. Any cast iron guarantees from anyone...pleeeeease??? Oh, and do EDS post to UK?

I can highly recommend Janson-Beckett's AlphaDerma CE over their Mineral Prep. I have been using it since last July. I am a lot older than you but it totally firmed up my skin. You should see nice results within a week but more improvement as the weeks go by. My face was very saggy after losing weight. I became a sales rep. for JB after several months of using the product. Perhaps other forum members who use ADCE can give you their recommendations also.

You can read more about AlphaDerma right here on EDS: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/alphaderma-anti-ageing.htm

I would also recommend a good exfoliant to use once and week, Vit. C Serum at a concentrate of 10% to start and a good Sun protectant. You still have close to three months to get you skin in shape for your wedding. Very Happy

Dr Hauschka has a lovely skin firming mask that would be lovely to use once or twice a week. You can also read more about that here on EDS. http://www.essentialdayspa.com/dr-hauschka-skin-care-products.htm

Best wishes,
Winnie
JB

I used a dead sea mud algae mask followed by esthers secret mask for my 40th birthday bash with a cap of guerlain midnight star as foundation prep and I seriously had people thinking I was in my 30s Shock

This was beforethe fun got under way, so not a case of beer goggles (I hope!).

You can get the dead sea masks from holland and barrett. I had forgotten all about how fab they were and even on its own it's good, the esthers secret is like the icing on the cake.

Winnie is spot on about using a C serum and exfoliant and the ADCE line has loads of raves here. Never used the the Dr H firming mask, but I love the rejuvenating mask. Oh, and listen to yer auntie winnie when she tells you to slap on the sunscreen! Living oop north is no excuse!Very Happy

I was thinking of the Esther's Secret Masque as well. Does Judy Marshall still sell it? Where has she been? Also, I have heard that Freeze 24/7is good for a one-time event. Maybe you could get a sample and check it out.

I am in the neighborhood of fifty. I went on a low glycemic index diet (modified atkins) I lost 40 pounds and most of my wrinkles. The trick I believe was the water and plenty of Omega 3 oils. I also use a green tea toner and have been using 3 different vit C preps.
None of these are quick though.

I have been starting to use peels with strong glycolic acid. I saw improvement pretty quickly with these. My skin is not too sensitive though and I know people who have broken out in hives with even a 10% glycolic product (test under your chin first before going whole face).

I am only 25 but my skin is pretty good, if I may say so myself Embarassed BUT if you needed results yesterday, I would suggest Cellcosmet,
*Ultra Vital for day & night use. Dont forget sunscreen ( whatever you using now )
If pockets allows UltraCell or Elasto collagen ampules as a night treatment prior to U/Vital
If you are not getting results from your eye cream, and can not justify the cost of the
Cellcosmet eye cream I would probably just use the Ultra Vital for that period ( I wouldnt recommend, but desperate times )
Valmont
*Renewing Pack Mask ( I would start using twice weekly, give yourself a mini facial at home )use after exfoiliating if not this mask my second fav, you guessed it Cellcosmet
Exfoilant - your choice (As above 2 x week)
As long as the exfoilant isnt what you would call harsh, I would use a gentle exfoilant like Dr H cleansing cream or Jurlique (my fave) every night,

Again if budget allows vitamin C product before cream in morning, gives clarity and radiance to the skin, (Iuse skinceauticals 10 )

This is what I do in times of desperation, and will be following this routine again very shortly. Please keep in mind this is what works for me, I have combination skin normal to oily, I dont suffer from breakouts (only occasional hormonal), or any sensitivities
from product ingredients.
Deffinity kick your water intake up I personally drink 4 - 5 litres of pure water a day.
Sunscreen everyday.
Try not to stress out completly, I know, easier said then done.
Try to get 8 hrs sleep and even start taken EFA'S supplement. I used to take the Flaxseed oil, it was awfull, but what it did for my skin, hair & nails in a matter of 2 weeks, was truly unreal. Personally I would go the oil alot more concentrated than the capsules. I used to put 1 tablespoon into a protein shake,if not try using it with vinegar in salad dressing and spice it up with things abit.

Lastly I do use other skincare ranges but when the budget allows it is Cellcosmet for basically everything they offer and this has been the case for the last few years. Cellcosmet will be the only highend skincare product I will use/stock when I am a fully qualified therapist, purely because I have seen the fantastic results you can acheive with this range first hand.

Hi there and thanks for all the replies. Although I would gladly spend the cash I am still a little hesitant and am trying to penny-pinch a bit. How about starting with ADCE and the skin prep as suggested by Winnie? Bearing in mind that my skin isn't really THAT bad for my age? As for a mask I was really interested in the Esthers secret but it seems they don't ship to UK so I am going to try the dead sea one (ta Guapagirl) and if that doesn't give me the wow factor I may have to splash out on the Valmont. I have loads of eyecream but think I will have to splurge a bit and get the cellcosmet one at a later date. Now...Midnight star. I have used this and it was nice but Midnight secret seems a bit better. Any advice on this?Freeze 24/7 is getting good reviews here but for a quick fix seems v.expensive (but maybe that's what I need?) anyone tried it? People mention free samples a lot - how do I go about getting these? Wow, I sound really mean don't I?! Bad Grin Any other thoughts gladly welcomed!!

best way to get samples in the uk is

A; to dress up in your most expensive gear, wear pleanty of jewellery and slap and make sure you have a friend who has done the same. Go to the highest end dept store you can find and cruise the counters, being really interested in whatever it is you are after. Your friend must be hassling you saying that it's rubbish and she wants to get going. That's when you hit the SA for a sample. Only to be told that there aren't any left (because the SA has sold them all on ebay).

B; Look on ebay

Congrats on the wedding, I would keep your skin care routine as simple as possible, the more attention and the more products you slap on, you can just garrentee your skin will react or not take nicely.
I agree with Pal, get 8 hours sleep a night and also take supplements so you get that nice healthy glow for your wedding, lots of fish oils, zinc and B complex Very Happy
When you look radient and healthy, you could spend next to nothing on cosmetics and no-one would know, you would still look fabulous.

Well Guapagirl, I have already struck lucky with the dept store samples (guerlain) but I must look particularly honest (or needy!) as the SA was VERY generous but told me not to tell anyone! What I was meaning was samples from EDS. Since I posted yesterday I have actually ordered a free sample of the ADCE and after reading some other posts....some Decleor eye stuff (mostly cos it's not too expensive and it got good reviews!)
I am hoping Wink that as Rosebud has pointed out, I will be "glowing" naturally anyway! If the ADCE is any cop tho I will have some. I'm afraid I am abit reluctant to shell out megabucks until I am assured it's gonna work!
I too have noticed loads of samples on e bay but naively wondered how the sellers got hold of them! Rolling Eyes Thanks for all the help ladies

I drink between 2 1/2 to 3 L a day, and some days, I have to use the washroom every hour, but other days, no. I g uess it depends on how much your body needs that day. If I have been drinking the night before, I find I can easily drink 4 L and not spend that much time in the washroom.

Hi Zoe

Some days more than others, but no more than probably 5 - 6 times during the day , probably more so at night once I am in bed , I think its because if I get and go, I come back to bed and drink another huge mouthful of water. Sometimes it can be every fifteen minutes for an hour, this really only occurs if Im laying in bed taken to my b/f. I have been drinking this way for years, it started when I was doing alot of weight training, cardio, clean eating ect, now all I do is the water drinking Laughing
But keep in mind I hardly ever drink anything else, no coffee, tea, softdrink ect. I just really like water, I take it everywhere. We do buy our water though, because there would be no way in hell I will ever drink Brisbane water, its revolting!, seriously!
So really I think your body eventually gets used to it Smile

I drink a lot of water and tea. At first I was always on the pot (everyone says I have a pea bladder). It;s better now but I try not to drink much after 7:30PM or so because then I wake up all night.

daydreamer, congratulations on getting married. As it is your wedding I will give you a AlphaDerma CE 4oz. as a 14 Day FREE In Home Trial. I guarantee you will see immediate results and love it. There are always mixed opinions about products but I stand behind mine and my company. Try the product and if you don't like it in 2 Weeks simply return it to JB Inc. If you do like it and I know you will simply pay EDS for the product and keep it. Please call Lou M at 1-888-476-3600 and he will set it up. We will ship it to you with no charge for shipping. If not just send it back. The reason I want you to pay EDS is they are a JB Retailer and we support all of our retailers. I will contact EDS and let them know the offer I gave you. When buying AlphaDerma all you have to lose is the fine lines and wrinkles. Seriously I guarantee the first thing you will notice is the major Tightening and Firming all over your face and neck. If that is what you are looking for then you won't be sorry. Smile

All The Best,
Ian

Congratulations!

OK, here are my suggestions for natural products, in order of importance, that work:

Dr Hauschka Rythmic night conditioner: use every evening.

Dr Hauschka eye solace: use 10 days, every day up until the wedding.

Dr Hauschka firming mask: use as often as you can. (Put on your lips too, it will tingle and plump them...)

Dr Hauschka cleansing milk: to cleanse the face without drying or irritating it.

Since you live in europe, I suggest ordering from
http://www.bce-europe.com
at a REALLY discounted price!

I also suggest Jurlique's eye gel and Herbal recovery gel for dayly use, and Caudalie's Beauty Elixir as a toner/treat. Very Happy
