I've had this TM for a while but it's been pushed back to the back of the bathroom cabinet after some initial failed attempts to make this product work for me. Fawnie just asked a question about this yesterday so I thought I'd pull it out and use it a few times and post a review.
As far as I am concerned, this is one of the worst tinted moisturisers I have used. First, I don't understand how Caudalie can justify having a Fair/Medium Skin shade of this. There is a BIG difference between Fair and Medium. I happen to be fair and this TM is *WAY* too dark for me. It's a very light cream (almost a lotion) that is orangy in shade with a little bit of pink in there too.
I have tried to apply this in three ways:
1. On unmoisturised skin: Uneven coverage, pigment catches on drier areas. My face looks unnatural, too dark with an uneven orangy tone.
2. On moisturised skin: Still uneven coverage, made worse by the fact that trying to blend the TM in results in just 'pushing' the pigment around on your moisturiser so I end up with streaks on my orange face.
3. Mixed with a moisturiser and then applied on unmoisturised skin: This is the best of the three though still not good enough. Still somewhat uneven tone to the skin, too dark and too orange.
Overall, definitely not a happy camper about this impulse buy! There are FAR better tinted moisturisers out there! |

Thanks Mabsy. You know, the brand name is what intrigued me enough to even ask about it! Their other products are just so nice. Too bad this one's a clunker! Thanks for your review. |

They do have some very nice products that I would definitely repurchase but this is certainly not one of them... |

Hi Mabsy, Is there a TM that you would recommend? |

Not Mabsy here, but I think Laura Mercier TM is excellent. It gives a nice glow to the face (not matte finish), is easily buildable so you can have as sheer coverage as you like, smoothes skin nicely and makes it look poreless and lineless. I wear it in Nude for my light/medium skin and it's perfect! |

I'm just pasting here what I wrote in another thread to fawnie. Hope this helps.
"I liked the Dr Hauschka Toned Day Cream, Tarte TM, and Dermalogica TM. Laura Mercier also has a good TM (many like it but from what I remember I wasn't a fan of the texture of it). I don't usually recommend Clinique but I used a tinted version of their sunblock and finished off the whole tube (it was pretty good). Prescriptives Traceless is also one of my favourites - they call it a "skin tint" I guess it's more of a very light foundation but it looks nice and natural." |

I love Laura Mercier TM, so moisturising and looks so nature on me. The best thing is that it doesn't break me out at all. |
