As per usual, whenever I go overseas I always forget to pack something. I specifically wanted to bring the Blinc mascara with me so that I did not have to travel with an eye makeup remover. This was a last minute decision and I left the mascara next to my bag in the evening and I was planning to pack it in the morning before loading my bags into the car. Well, that didn't happen. I realised this on Saturday morning as I was getting ready to meet up with SassyRed. I had no mascara with me!

The lack of mascara issue did not last long - by the time I was ready to leave San Diego I had bought three and had two sample sized ones as well Embarassed However, I had to buy an eye makeup remover as well. I wanted something that I had not yet tried and I decided that Andrea Eye Q'S pads would be the most convenient seeing as they're ready to use. Boy was that a wrong move! In short - I think these pads really suck!

There were two versions of this product that i saw in the shops - oil free and regular (I am told there is also a third - waterproof mascara - version); I bought the regular. Essentially, this product is a jar of pre-soaked pads for eye makeup removal. The pads are oily (almost to the extent of being slimey) and I was seriously shocked at how ineffective they were at removing just standard mascara (they removed eyeshadow with no probs though). I thought that the fact that these pads were so oily would have already meant that they would be effective (albeit very unpleasant to use). I also have to say that while the pads are oily, I feel as if they're not moist enough to remove eye makeup. I only used three of these before getting a different eye makeup remover Mad

As you were Mabsy, I was very disappointed with this product as well. Andrea really does have some good eye makeup removers, but not the oily ones. I don't know how they can say that this one removes all eye makeup. My mascara didn't even budge.

Hi Susie - glad I'm not the only one. I had a look on MUA and the reviews for the oil free ones are ok. There are no reviews for the oily ones though (from what I recall). I still can't get over how completely ineffective this product is. I'd be *much* easier to take mascara off with just a cotton pad soaked in water Mad

Mabsy -

If I remember correctly, you are/were a fan of Decleor Cleansing Oil. Have you never tried it to remove your eye makeup and/or mascara? That’s all I ever use anymore (although I still adore “Bare Eyes” from Bare Escentuals and my Ultima II eye makeup remover), since I can cleanse my face and remove my eye makeup in one fell swoop. That’s especially important to me right now, since I’m living in a hotel for the next couple weeks while I wait for my new house to be completed and I didn’t want to have to schlep twenty five different products with me to the hotel!

I swear, you guys are such a bad influence on me, or a great influence, depending on your viewpoint. In the past when I traveled, I could fit all of my toiletries into a small cosmetics case, but since I joined EDS and really began paying attention to caring for my skin, now it takes one large and two smaller cases to hold all of my skincare products!! Of course, it didn’t help that I decided to take all of my essential oils and carrier oils with me to the hotel either – they’re all snug and cozy in their own little ‘train case.’ Rolling Eyes

Anyway, back to the point: give the Decleor Cleansing Oil a try for removing mascara! BTW, I finally received that “1000 hours Lash Tinting Kit” in midnight blue from that online pharmacy in NZ, and I applied it on Saturday. Great Caesar’s Ghost – that stuff is f*cking awesome!! Much easier to apply than the Roux Lash Tint Kit I bought at Sallys, and the results are much more noticeable and glossy-looking. I’m definitely going to have to order another kit to ensure that I don’t run out of it at any time! Thanks for the recommendation!

Carrie

Carrie - sure have tried it (still have some!). It is fantastic for removing mascara and all sorts of makeup although I do prefer the Babor formulation having tried it more recently. The only reason I bought the EyeQs is because I was in San Diego and needed something convenient and portable. What a mistake that was!

I'm really glad the midnight blue lash tint worked out well for you! I love the results and it is super easy. You can also get *way* more applications out of it than it says on the box so it's so much cheaper and so much more convenient than going back to the salon. It's nowhere to be found in Australia anymore so it looks like I'll have to get it from NZ as well...

Yeah, I’m afraid that one day we won’t even be able to find it in NZ, either, which is why I plan to stock up! I wonder if the ingredients will expire if the packaging remains sealed and unopened...? I guess I need to check my box and see if there’s an expiration date. I’m going to be so bummed if they ever completely discontinue this item! Here’s the link to that Kiwi online pharmacy: http://www.parnellpharmacy.co.nz/afawcs0111602/CATID=5/SUBID=107/RID=/ID=1416/SID=207353257/productdetails.html so you can order your’s....
