I've heard that emu oil is good for closing the pores? (Once you've decided what your going to use to clear them out first!)

Poor you, why don't you try Dr. H's Cleansing Cream day and night for your face. And use Payot's Irradie mask. I also have black heads and try very very hard not to squeeze every night. You can squeeze but you have to mask right after squeezing otherwise pores will get so big. You can also try Carekate's ACV toner.
In this extreme case (even on the back), I think maybe you should cut all oily food to see if it makes any difference. And maybe try something from within, such as follow detoxing regime.
Also use a loafer when you shower to scrub your back.
Hope it helps. Good luck with experimenting.

You can try the Dead Sea Mud Mask from the Organic Make-up Company.
I've been using The Organic Make-up Co's exfoliator and mud mask for awhile and all my black heads have basically cleared. |

do u guys normally opt for facial treatment? or focus on using products? or juz watchful on ur diet?
i just couldn't help but squeezing dem out at de back..coz they are big and when i squeeze..veri easily dey wud come out...apart frm dat de beautician encourages me to go for extraction too!! but it's SOOOOOOOOO expensive and SUPER painful each time dey put de needle and take it out from de back..!!! especially on de soft spot! and de worst is...after 3-4 days de blackheads attack are back!!
however i'm really starting 2 drink lotsa water...coz my weakness is really these..'drink veri little plain water..and eat veri little veggie'...
*sigh..now it's a little regretful for not taking care of my own body and now it's juz spreading like crazy..i wish i can turn back d clock...
so do u guys juz use products or producs+facial treaments? |

Diet is I think the most important, so lots of vegies, fruit, seeds, fish, white meats, EV Olive Oil etc. Yes and lots of water.
Have a look into supplements as well, if the blackheads have only started with a vengence recently it could be hormone related and supplements would help to balance out hormones.
As for products I am a big fan of the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, I also like the homemade version. Try the Apple Cider Vinegar homemade Toner, this is fantastic for closing up any open pores. |

I suggest you go see a dermatologist/skin specialist (doctor). He/she will be qualified, will be able to examine your skin and help you!
That's the best piece of advice I have for you! I hope everything will work out for you!

Also, I believe in a combination of all of the above. Facials every 4-6 weeks, good products for home use and a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

I beleive aspirin is salicylic acid. Someone please correct me if I am wrong! So, if you look at the DIY Skincare thread, you could try making the asprin mask and toner. That should be pretty cheap to do too!
I you don't like that idea, there are products that contain SA. Maybe Paula's Choice or Peter Thomas Roth...you might have to order them online though. |

I'd see a derm....but if you can't do that then I'd focus first and foremost on getting your skin cleaned out.. You could try Dermalogica's Microfoliant coupled with Dr. H's cleansing cream (Microfoliant, then Dr H)...the micro-f will help to resurface and the Dr. H will decongest (and how!!!)....be prepared for some wholloping break-outs in the first few weeks.
Good luck!

I haven't tried the Dermalogica Microfoliant, but I do love the skin Prep and I'm with Pudoodles, exfoliate then the Dr H CC. My Skin feels so good after this. |

PersonalFormulator.com sells salycilic acid and various bases that you could mix it into...I use glycerin and the SA, equal parts, leave on as a mask for 2-3 minutes each day. This works really well for me. |

All blackheads are is dirt, oil, stuff that settles on your skin through out the day. They become blackheads(settle into your pores) after so many hours ( I think its 6-10 hours,I cant recall the exact amount of time). So its important that you wash your face, even back (if thats the other problem area) every morning and evening.
I have a big problem with blackheads and I wash with NeoStrata Anti Bacterial face wash morning and night and it's made a HUGE difference. My face is almost clear. Its such a differnce that: On the days I dont wear makeup and I go to sleep with out washing my face,by the next evening, my face is full of blackheads again. Mine arent very big and I have them primarily on my nose, chin and cheek area near my nose. IMO, most facial cleansers will work, as long as you wash 2 times a day. Benzoil Peroxide(sp) also works great for blackheads. Just dont go overboard with it.=) Ive also found that AHAs work very well for blackheads.
All that being said, you said your blackheads were really big.I would defintely go see a derm. =) |
