Since EDS was my first real exposure to the forum format I just assumed most others were as supportive, friendly, kind and helpful as this one. Well, was I ever wrong! A few weeks ago I started perusing a well know Plastic Surgery forum that apparently has no moderators and as a result many of the posts have become vile, hateful, hurtful and vulgar. I came running back here where I always feel welcomed and accepted.
My point is that I now realize just how important pro-active moderators are to the overall health and well-being of public forums. A big THANKS to both Mabsy and Caspers Mum for doing such a wonderful job!!! |

Pen is right, I've walked away from a site where I was a member for 4 years because of the influx of new scumy trolls. Sorry you had that experience but I guess it just goes to show human nature - here where we get along or any differences can be sorted with few problems and the idiots who get a kick out of ruining stuff. GRRR.
Anyway EDS is by far the best beauty resourse I've found |

Yes, I too have noticed malicious comments & stinging barbs applied to members on other Forums. In some sense, I have to laugh at these people, because they're making such huge issues out of nothing, and obviously have nothing better to do than to spew misery. A few years ago, I used to check-into a Forum from Allure magazine. Boy, were there some hateful people out there! (sigh!) |

I once posted on the facercise board, blimey did I regret it? I'd been lurking for months too. Quite amazing how offensive some people can be and that was a facercise 'trainer' - seemed to have some kind of a power fetish. Not surprised no-one posts there anymore.
Yes, this is so much more civilised. |
