can you use amlactin on your face? I've
tried it, and it's been giving me a nice glow, but I don't want it to damage my skin. Couldn't be worse than retin a right?

I’m perplexed: why would using Amlactin on your face be harmful? If I remember correctly, the primary ingredient in Amlactin is lactic acid (isn’t that supposed to be derived from milk?), so how would that harm your skin? In fact, in all of my research regarding making my own skincare products, it seemed to indicated that lactic acid was one of the most gentle of all the acids (i.e.: AHAs/BHAs), the one most often recommended to be used in products or recipes for sensitive and/or dry skin....
Do you know something about lactic acid that I don’t?! |

My pediatrician recommended it for my 2-yearold who has dry patches on his cheeks. So I think it is safe enough to use on an adult face if it is safe enough for a baby face.

Just be careful because it does have a high concentration of lactic acid as it is made for the body. If you face tolerates it, go for it. That being said, amlactin stinks and you can find better (not as smelly) alpha/beta hydroxy acid products for your face...check out md forte, md formulations, IS clinicals active serum, cellex-c's line smoother.
