For those of you who are interested, I just recieved my Avene 20 oil free gel from the Garden Pharmacy in England. It is a sunny day in Western Pennsylvania / Eastern Ohio, so I gave it a test run over my lunch hour walk. The product is very mattifying....no oil or greasy residue what so ever. It absorbed readily into my skin, with a very slight whitish cast. I was initially concerned about the reported "heaviness" of the Avene cremes, which is why I ordered the oil free gel. No greasiness to report with this formula. I hope that it continues to impress!!! |

Have you tried wearing any make-up over the top? I am wondering with this being a gel if it peels off at all when you put make-up over the top? |

Actually, the product is a "creme-gel" (as stated on the tube). Therefore, it does not have the consistency of the typical gel. It is a light creme.
I have yet to apply make-up over the Avene. Typically, I do not wear make up over sunscreen. I plan to wear this during the summer months......only when outdoors for extended periods.
We live in such a gloomy area most of the year! |

Gloomy!!!!!! Try coming over here where a bottle of sun cream will last you at least 2 years
We are actually having a heat wave over here now and the amount of lobsters you walk past in the supermarket I've been using my Avene spray SPF50 and don't have a problem with putting make-up over the top. I might look into the gel/cream though for days when it's not as sunny. |
