Ever since I used one of the (now discontinued) Orlane salt scrubs I have been on the lookout for salt and sugar scrubs in general. The Orlane flower salt scrub pack made my skin so unbelievably smooth and soft that I was rather upset to find out that it was discontinued. I had a look at one of the Philosophy scrubs but it didn't really grab me to be honest.
Yesterday I was in K-Mart of all places and saw that they had a clearance on Totally Juicy products. I haven't actually seen that brand before but seeing as everything was for Au$4 each I decided to give a couple of things a go. I got a Mango Pore Mask (which I have not yet tried) and the Apple Hot Sugar Body Scrub.
I just tried the scrub in the shower this morning and for Au$4 this is a great product! It does warm up a little on contact like the instructions say it does but it's really negligible - I was disappointed with the warming effect. This is a scrub that you're supposed to use on DRY skin before you actually hop into the shower - and this is exactly what I did. I did find it to be a bit rough and therefore not suitable for sensitive skins (you might want to add water to make it less harsh) but my skin really needed an extra-strength treatment and this worked a treat! It also has a nice apple scent that does stick around for a while. I got out of the shower and my skin was really smooth and soft (and not stripped, it was quite comfortable). This is not something that I would use every day but it looks like it will be nice for a once-a-week treatment. Overall, it's not as good as the Orlane one because it doesn't leave the skin as moisturised. Given the price difference though I can't complain. Of course, from now on I won't be able to get this because it was discontinued here!
I just did some window shopping on EDS and I see that B Kamins has a Maple Sugar Body Scrub. I think that's the next one I will go for (I liked their Maple Body Lotion).
ps. I applied Jergen's Natural Glow after using this scrub and it was really easily absorbed. Hopefully, the exfoliation means that I won't have any patches around me knees and ankles.... |

Mabsy-
Just posted on another thread asking question about this stuff- please ignore, am crazy to not look here first for review.
Sound good anyway. Was using body shop nut scrub but not 'scrubby' enough for me.
Thanks for the review!

I read posts from oldest to newest when I log in and I just answered it before seeing this post.
It is a really nice scrub, I went back today and got another tube of it I'm going to use it again today before putting on the Jergen's self tanner (which is fab!!!!). |
