Had a few large and many small moles removed from my face. I think I may have made a bad decision.
The procedure involved a cream anesthesia over the face with anestesia injections at some of the bigger moles. It felt like two types of lasers were used. One was a much sharper, which probably feels like getting a tatoo (I don't have a tatoo) and the other felt a little bigger. Both were fairly painful. I was literally anticipating the pulses of pain from the lasers.
It took less than 30 minutes and afterwards the Doctor put me up to a mirror. All I saw was a bunch of pits (1/8 of an inch or so)where my moles once were. Is this how it is supposed to be? I thought the mole was to be burned and would fall off like a wart when burned with dry ice. They then swabbed the areas and put small round bandaids on them.
I was told to let the bandaids fall off on their own and apply new ones for a week or so. No anti-bacterial cream or anything?
I'm worried about the pitting and scarring. Is this how it is supposed to be? I'll be worrying about this for months. If there is pitting and scarring, can this be corrected on a non-Hollywood budget? |

Hi Guest
Have a look at the skin biology site or post a question on the forum for the attention of Dr Loren Pickart. He is very good about getting back to people especially things like this. I'm not sure, but ~I think copper peptides may be useful. Here's the link to the forum,

heres the skin bio site, that has loads of info:

Never had any laser stuff done...but I wouldn't go putting active ingredients on until after it's healed completely! maybe neosporin or polysporin...but ask your doctor or pharmacist first. |

Hyaluronic acid is used during the first 40 days or so after deep peels to encourage skin to produce new cells. You can get it from naturalskincare.com or diannayvonne.com's site. Check with your doc first of course. I also wonder if you should not be putting a polysporin/neosporin ointment on them to promote healing and discourage infection. Hmmm. |

I also had my mole removed on my face last week. Mine was incised and stitched. I will removing stitches tomorrow. After the mole was removed my doctor gave me antibiotic ointment which contains bacitracin (prevents infection) and neomicin (promotes healing). He also told me to keep it open after two days and just to cover (if I want to) when going outside. |

I would agree with Guapagirl, but with a degree more certainty. There's a lot of evidence that copper peptides help to heal without scarring and might even be able to help with the pits. Contact them and see what they suggest. Their site is too confusing to decide on your own if you have a serious issue like this.
