Actually, I don't think they are they same thing. I think ascorbic acid is just a general name used to describe Vit C, but l-acsorbic acid is the specific type of C. Not a stupid question at all; it is a bit confusing really.  |

Thank you~that's what my instinct told me. On that note, I was looking at the LaRoche Posay Active C at a salon and thinking of repurchasing. I checked the ingredients as I always do now and noticed it had ascorbic NOT L-ascorbic and actually changed my mind about buying. I walked out being very confused. I liked the this product 2 years ago(and LRP in general) when I first tried it. But it did make me hesitate and wonder if I should be looking for L-ascorbic instead.**heavy sigh***

I am very picky about Vit C, and wouldn't have bought it either. If the company is just being lazy, and not labeling correctly, they don't deserve my business; and if it is not l-ascorbic, then I really don't want it anyway. Not to say there are not other LRP products you can't still buy though!  |
