I finally went to a dermatologist after dealing with acne for years. I'm now 30 and suffer from major blackheads and some larger pimples--usually these larger pimples are from blackheads that I've picked at, but what else do you do?
Anyway, the derm said he does not use retin A. He said he uses antibiotics and extractions. What?!! Who doesn't use retin A--that's what I want. He also wants to see me once a week. Is this totally bogus? |

Sunny - I've never actually seen a derm and I hope that you get some good advice from others here who have more experience.
Personally though, unless you have some severe skin condition, I don't see why you'd need to see the derm on a weekly continual basis... If a derm said that to me I'd be asking why it was necessary. |
